17,000 new troops are on their way in to Afghanistan and we are stuck in Iraq.

Feel sorry for the troops. They think they are doing us a favor.

with putting a size 12 US boot up the ass of an enemy of the US... but wtf are they doing there now?

At a minimum... they should be holed up in their secure bases only to come out to respond to a specific request from the Iraqi government and even those kind of strikes should be done with drones.

I know that I haven't forgotten. We have a memorial to the American soldiers in our yard and our local peace group holds vigil twice a week. We have been doing this since December 2005. At times we all feel alone in this thing. Thanks for posting. Obama needs to wake up to the fact that the direction these two wars are taking is not good. Peace, kim
