9. Hey phoenixriz
You're a sweetheart :toast: Completely thrilled you enjoy the photos, thank you so much. Just to repeat - all I do is rob them from daylife.com and other sites (Time, Flickr, Yahoo) and post them here, so I'm the Thief-in-Chief!

Thank you again.

6. Its a great way to start your day
Isn't it? After eight years of images of an awkward, inept Bush, it is refreshing to see a composed, classy president representing us aboard.

30. The more that I see pictures of the First Couple
the more I realize that we are witnessing a great time in history. I have never seen a more dignified couple. They make me proud! And I feel like it would be a complete WASTE if I don't do something great with my life because they are great role models for myself. Thanks!

33. That's Max Cleland in picture #18!

He must have been ther in his capacity as Obama's Secretary of the American Battle Monuments Commission. That organization is responsible for the buriel site at Omaha beach.

"...Other notables present included former Sen. Max Cleland of Georgia, who lost both legs and an arm in Vietnam, and actor Tom Hanks, star of the film, "Saving Private Ryan."

PS Finally found a caption for that photo:

37. Max!
I didn't realize the President made Max part of his administration. Excellent choice! I would have preferred him as Defense Secretary, and I hope this position is just a place-holder. Max Cleland is one of my most favorite political people, and I believe that if there is such a place as "Hell", there is a special place in it for Sonny Boy Perdue and his equally-filthy minions.

38. #24 - OMG
I've never seen a picture of the Normandy Beaches from that vantage point. It really gives you pause to think of what those G.I.s faced on D-Day. One of my relatives was on Ike's staff, so I don't think that he actually landed with the force. The others were with Patton in Africa, and in the Pacific.
