Sarah Palin backs out of fundraising dinner -- again
<snip>

Sarah Palin’s on-again, off-again appearance at Monday night’s gala GOP fundraising dinner is off — again.

After being invited — for a second time — to speak to the annual joint fundraiser for the National Republican Congressional Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Palin was told abruptly Saturday night that she would not be allowed to address the thousands of Republicans there after all.

The Alaska governor may now skip the dinner altogether, and her allies are miffed at what they see as a slight from the congressional wing of the Republican Party.

The reason given for the snub, said a Palin aide, was that NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions was concerned about not wanting to upstage former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, the fundraising gala’s keynote speaker...

The GOP implosion just gets better and better.

1. I'm thinking a "Draft Palin" movement is called for.
Let's get her up there to crash the stage!

6. Sounds like she didn't back out at all. So the rethugs
prefer a disgraced speaker to a sitting governor and the rethug candidate for VP of the US?

Whoa. And  Either way, ya gotta love it.

8. I think it's pretty clear that Newtie is running in '12.
And it looks like the House & Senate Repugs prefer him to Bible Spice.

How does the story go? His wife (2nd?) was in the hospital dying of cancer and Newtie had her served with divorce papers so he could marry her mistress? Is that right? I just want to make sure I understand Republican family values.

7. She really is at a big disadvantage living out in Alaska....
... it's takes a bigger effort to get to the East Coast than it does for the rest of the GOP folks.

And she also has a problem with the news cycle .... but the time she gets the news it's already .... well, the next day. lol

10. IF there is a just and merciful God
SP will NEVER be POTUS. There will be a woman POTUS someday to be sure but it will NEVER be her IMHO. If God is vengeful and wrathful, however, well, then all bets are off.

21. I would think an organization would want to show off ALL of their stars.
But of course, in most cases that would be good if it weren't the Republican Party.

If they don't want to upstage Newt then have her be the last speaker. When many of the audience will be gone.
