This is a link to the second one:

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=105044390

In addition to the canards about folks overusing health care because they get tax free benefits (i guess I forgot how much I enjoy going to the doctor when I don't need to :eyes:), both radio segments this morning on health care/insurance (Liasson's and then Horsely's) had no mention of the amount of cost associated with profit in health insurance, nor was their mention of how other countries provide universal health care. In other words, the report was a lot like talking about the weather without mentioning rain or snow.

I don't understand how you write a segment on health care coverage and neglect to mention how ANY ONE ELSE accomplishes this AND how you fail to even mention the role of insurance company profits and costs to the system in a discussion about all the costs associated with universal coverage. :wtf:

2. There are some beneficial side effects to going to the doctor when it's not a complete crisis
  • He gets to see you in "normal" mode, so when you come in drastically sick, he's got something to compare against
  • He gets to ask about and check stuff that isn't a crisis, often nipping problems in the bud. eg. "How long have you had that wierd black mole?"
