Obama's new stimulus plan same as the old
By BRETT J. BLACKLEDGE and MATT APUZZO, Associated Press Writers Brett J. Blackledge And Matt Apuzzo, Associated Press Writers – 20 mins ago

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama is promising some exciting coming attractions for his stimulus plan. But it turns out they're just summer reruns.

Obama promised Monday to ramp up spending from the $787 billion stimulus fund and create or save 600,000 jobs by the end of the summer. It was an effort to shift the focus away from persistently rising unemployment and beat back criticism that the money isn't flowing quickly enough.

Those promises aren't new.

Stimulus spending had always been expected to rise sharply this summer, and the White House has been predicting that 600,000 job total for about a month.

I'm not down on Obama, I'm just passing this along.

1. That's really an "Editorial Comment" in a news headline.

2. It's really not worth reading.
It's more AP tripe.

3. I saw the article and was waiting for someone to post it.
How many GOP Governors and mayors made a statement by withholding usage of their allocation of funds? Do you have any idea how they fucked up their state? In most cases their individual State was already in the double digits and then after 3 months of non-usage they allowed the percentage to rise. When some of them were later forced to use the money we have to wait and see about another 4 months to meet the changes. Yet, we have these reporters talking about promises as broken when we have people fucking up the President. Not to mention this wasn't solely a Republican thing, even Democrats did this.
