Many here have falsely suggested that NOW avoids criticizing sexism by right-wingers
In many comments in response to the National Organization for Women, some fellow DU'ers have said things the effect of "NOW should be going after this or that conservative sexist person instead."

This shows lack of knowledge about NOW's history.

Just this year, NOW has inducted at least the following individuals to the "media hall of shame:"

Bill O'reilly
Offense: Bill O'Reilly compares legendary journalist Helen Thomas to "the Wicked Witch of the East".
"NOW's Analysis: O'Reilly's comment is not only sexist and ageist, it shows a lack of respect for a courageous and outspoken journalist who has covered ten U.S. presidents. Would O'Reilly use a similarly derogatory term about an older male journalist? We think not!"

Glen Beck
The Offense: Radio host Glenn Beck mockingly explained how he thought President Obama chose Judge Sonia Sotomayor as his nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court: "They're just like: 'Hey, Hispanic chick lady! You're empathetic!' She says 'Yep!' They say: 'You're in.' That's the way it really works. . . . The reason to be pissed off is she's not transgendered and she's not handicapped, she's not blind, she's not in a wheelchair. I don't know if she has any kind of chemical imbalance."

Gordon Liddy
The offense: The Offense: Speaking about President Obama's nominee for the Supreme Court, Judge Sonia Sotomayor, radio host G. Gordon Liddy had this to say: "Let's hope that the key conferences aren't when she's menstruating or something, or just before she's going to menstruate. That would really be bad. Lord knows what we would get then."

NOW is an organization whose work overwhelmingly criticizes right-wing show hosts, and that's a good thing.

We should not just notice the instances when one of hours incurs in what the organization perceives as sexist behavior.

A group cannot be told to be 100% Democratic, 100% of the time, especially when said organization is non-partisan by definition.
