Iranian news: Ahmadinejad wins.
But that is state-run news, so of course they're most likely just a mouth piece for Ahmadinejad.

2. Well there will be. Both sides reporting victory.
Edited on Fri Jun-12-09 02:45 PM by Drunken Irishman
Though Mousavi has hard numbers, saying he won 65% of the vote. Ahmadinejad hasn't reported any possible victory numbers.

3. It's hard to believe that both sides can claim an outright win.
I mean, it's a runoff system with multiple candidates. It's damn hard for any one person to get over 50%, much less have two people close enough that they might claim to do so. Actually, scratch that - it's mathematically impossible.

6. I think it's quite normal in this region.
They claim victory so they can later protest defeat.

It's just mind-numbing in its transparency here.

8. That headline is fake. They have not even begun counting votes and would not be finished for several
days.

16. Well the fact he's up with 69% with 20% of the vote in...
That's going to be hard for someone to overcome. It's possible, but we'll see.

Once the major urban areas start to show. However, that's a big hill to climb and I'm not betting on Ahmadinejad losing.

If he wins, it won't be with 69% of the vote. It'll probably fall into the 50s.

I guess that it all we can expect from a country like Iran.

22. Not quite.
These are rural areas being counted, which heavily favor Ahmadinejad. It's very likely his numbers will go down once the urban areas are counted.

24. Yes, he's going to win.
But it won't be with 69% of the vote.

It sucks, but he probably ran it up in the rural areas and held his own in many urban parts of the country.

:(

Pure distraction from power figureheads. The Ayatollahs still rule.
