OK, I'd like to apologize to the board for my previous Biden post. I blame Huffpost

The way they wrote the story made Biden seem kind of bad. Now when I actually watched the whole interview on the MTP replay on MSNBC, it wasn't as bad as others had made it. I shouldn't have made the thread w/o seeing the interview first. I apologize to u all. Forgive me. I also apologize to the VPOTUS just in case he logs in once in a while.

6. I did a reply on the other Biden thread

(not the one that got locked, I bumped it to the top) that explains that what Biden said isn't any different than what the Obama administration has already said, and instead makes a case for MORE stimulus instead of the stimulus failing (an LA Times article had tried to frame the debate as saying the stimulus failed, quoting hacks from the American Enterprise institute who want more tax cuts, and that's where Newt got his "they LIED about the stimulus", when most administrations underestimate projections all of the time). The press, especially Mark Halperin of The Page who probably loves his precious tax cuts, is always looking for a Biden gaffe, so sometimes it's best to look at the original clip. He screws up sometimes, but I don't think this is one of those times, whether you agree that the economic advisors should have originally underestimated or not).

Here's one thing to consider for the next time this happens (and it no doubt will) .... if Biden jokes about Justice Roberts and President Smiley suddenly becomes President Frowny, well, that's one thing.

If it's a MAJOR policy issue .... and on a MAJOR news program, you can believe the President and Vice President discussed the matter some time last week. To say that Biden spoke FOR the President isn't exactly what I mean, but you all can believe this matter came up over lunch some time last week and they discussed the best way answer it. Joe just didn't come up with that answer on the fly.

Joe Biden is a LOT of things .... good natured, verbose, a sexy man beast in a neck tie, .... but one thing Joe Biden is NOT and that's "stupid."
