He will do himself, and the Democrats in all by himself." So, that is what the Repubs are thinking. One of them anyway. Wanted you to know.

1. And if/when he does succede...they will try to take the credit.
Claiming it was all the work of George W. Bush and the "long-term seeds he planted."

The party that pushes "personal accountability" has none.

2. I know a few Republicans that secretly like Obama's policies
They say he seems more old fashioned Republican than the liberal monster their own party makes him sound like.

5. I've yet to see anything like a Republican policy from Obama
3 trillion dollar budget, that increases taxes on the rich? 800 billion stimulus package, that has middle class tax cuts? Every Republican I know is livid with him. Its the opposite of everything their King Raygun was for.

I know you hate Obama, but its hard to find any Republican that likes his policies. Domestic policies anyway.

10. I dont hate Obama, I voted for him enthusiastically
But I will admit I want him to be more assertive, more progressive, than he has demonstrated so far.

I didnt vote for Hillary because I believed Clinton economics helped foster the current economic crisis, but I might as well have for the approach Obama has taken in dealing with it so far.

12. Republicans are often confused as to what the Republican leadership's agenda really is.
Edited on Wed Jun-17-09 03:52 PM by w4rma
Many would be Democrats if they understood Democratic policy better rather than believing the propaganda about it.

7. I somewhat agree
I don't consider him to be very Liberal, and while he disappoints me on several fronts, he's doing about as I expected on most, and I don't even have a problem with some of it in that I somewhat cynically don't really expect to be represented anymore.

Anyway, I know a few who like him so far too, although most of those are the rare type of Republican who is not a Rush/FOX fan, but who prefers to read the news.

13. This girl I used to date, big-time Republican (why it didn't really work).
Had given one of my Obama Facebook links a 'like' (if you have FB, you'll know what I mean). This shocked me, so I messaged her and asked if she liked Obama and she said, "I think he's doing a great job."

I had to pick myself up off the floor.

She voted for McCain, though is clearly a more moderate Republican (as are most 20-something Republicans, me thinks).

But still.

8. So the republican at work is only smart enough
to swallow the republican kool-aid, but he's not smart enough to know why his statement is patently absurd. The biggest fear of republicans--those smarter than your common sense-challenged colleague--is that Obama WILL get what he wants and it will WORK, in which case the conservatives will be in the wilderness a log, long time.

14. Cowboy McCain
wasn't he getting ready to hope on a horse
and smack down Iran? I imagine if he wanted
the Titanic to sink he'd jump up and down on it
to hurry it along.

I'm glad that he is now all hat and no cowboy, 'cause shit would have probably hit the fan by now had he been installed.

17. Their best strategy is to wait for something bad to happen and capitalize on it

The problem is that they've been on such a hair trigger over nothings that they run the risk of Boy Who Cried Wolf syndrome.
