Kerry will kick Monkeyboy's ass in the debates.
Edited on Mon Sep-20-04 07:47 PM by Dees
I predict that once the debates are over Kerry/Edwards will pull ahead substantially. Kerry needs to mention seven words continuously during the debates. Iraq, health care, economy, education, security and environment. George W....you're fired!

1. No he won't.
Kerry is stiff, is unable to connect with voters, and cannot match Bush's broad moral themes when it comes to debates.

Bush will beat him--it's only a question of by how much.

2. Yes, I am very worried about the debates.
Shrub will make him look stiff and patrician. I am afraid it will not go well for us.

3. Yes we should all be a-scared....
I'm afraid to say it, but Bush has never lost a debate. His rhetorical skills are only matched by the great Roman statesman Cato the Elder.

5. I'm not sure about that
Bush has never lost a debate and he's such a gifted speaker and he really has a way with the people. He comes off as one of the people and folks relate to him. Especially in a townhall type format. I think Bush will do very well in the debates. I'm just hoping that Kerry is able to hold his own. Bottom line is Bush has excellent debating skills and as long as Kerry comes out without too many bruises Kerry may win by not loosing.

15. Methinks not
All you have to do is listen to Busgh these days. He's on painkillers or something.

Kerry can slowly and surely behead him mentally.

19. Bush has never lost a debate
He beat Ann Richards and he beat Al Gore.

Bush has tremendous command of the facts and is deceptively erudite. He speaks directly to the common man in plain English. He knows precisely what they fear and can address those fears in a way John Kerry doesn't.

I hope Kerry can just hold his own.

10. I'm really nervous.
I think Kerry might as well just pack it up after the debates and go back to Massachusetts. He doesn't stand a chance.

11. After 4 years of hell....
I dont think most people, even if they support him, see bush as the "common man" anymore. Other than his stupidity, which a lot of americans can definetely relate to, he has nothing else to connect with.

Unless these "undecideds" at the debates are rich or stupid, I think they'll connect more with kerry....unless he talks in that monotone voice that he sometimes does.

14. Georgie can try all the good ol' boy, ah shucks, winkin and
blinkin, country boy crap he wants. Kerry will say something like, "my opponent wants to act like a bumpkin and tell you he's just one of you working folks but I'm here to say that these issues are real and deadly serious. Now here is what I have to say".

17. How will these debates be formatted?
If the questions are lobbed by a panel reporters who serve as Bush's stooges, Bush will have an advantage.

If it's written questions taken from the audience in attendance and conducted fairly, Bush could get thrown off and look like the dumb deer in the headlights.

I agree that Kerry needs to drive home Bush's failures in handling the war; his failures in responding to 9-11; and get some real facts and figures of this pseudo economic recovery that Bush says we're having. If he can do this in all three debates, he could sway a lot of voters his way.
