A+ performance, he was comfortable, in his element.

Kerry played down the supposed "turmoil" within his campaign, and seemed genuinely carefree and not worried about the polls.

The jabs at Bush were classic "Cheney can claim him as a dependent/ he can sit on Cheney's lap" "Just ask Teresa to pay it off"

they were slightly below the belt at times, yet Kerry didn't come off as bitter or desperate. He was having a good time and we could all see it. He laid out his position on Iraq very clearly, and I think the message is finally starting to set in. The crowd loved it when he really sank his teeth into Halliburton. His jabs at Bush made Shrub seem small, weak and insignificant, exactly opposite of what Bush is trying to portray.

now you can see how 8 years later, Bill Weld still doesn't know what hit him.

1. Problem with Letterman in Detroit Michigan
Don't know about any of you, but the sound kept going out during JFK's appearance on Letterman tonight here on our CBS station. I found it kind of odd because it is a TAPED PROGRAM. You could hear the audience applaud but at various times both Letterman and Kerry would be silence.

Did anyone else have this problem??

What i could hear of it sounded GREAT though, completely on message, relaxed and the top-10 list was AWESOME!

President Kerry has a nice ring to it...:)

2. Kerry was always at his best one-on-one
I'm baffled by the lack of those kinds of interviews on the campaign's part. He's got another coming up with Dr. Phil of all people, but I hope this is a trend... :)

5. he was very good.....
and he was funny at times and then got serious when he had too...make a good case that Bush is completely incompetant!

The only part of it that I did not like is when Kerry said that we all thought Sadaam had WMD....WTF? Many intelligence officials in the CIA, DOE, INR, and other intelligence agencies had serious doubts about Bush's claims. I wish he would explain that Bush and Cheney are resposible for the hyped National Intelligence Estimate and they went further and hyped the hype in the run up to the war....

okay, thats my only complaint. Other than that he was GREAT tonight and looked very presidential!!!

9. RIGHT.....
and I was very happy he said that...but just before that he went with the conservative media spin that EVERYONE THOUGHT SADAAM HAD WMD. That is simply not true....Even our own intelligence ahencies, including the CIA, had very serious doubts about this. Bush never acted like there were doubts...if he did he would not have gotten his war. The American people, including congress, were all fooled by Bush and Cheney and Kerry should come right out and say it.

I hope he has a better answer for the debates....

10. dennis i think everybody thought they had some
not that they were threatening to us. or put us in grave danger. they had to ramp it up to muclear and drone planes dropping it on us. but we gave them to him. and he had sent out the inspectors til he let them back in befroe the invasion. truly even the french though they probably had some. but people didnt htink it warranted invasion and preemptive strike

6. He was excellent
I watched the C-SPAN replay of his speech and was pleased by how concisely he pulled key points from it and used them tonight. It was a beautiful performance.

I LOVED it when Letterman asked him something to the effect of "Do you really think you can restore America's credibility" and Kerry waited a beat and replied, "Has he really messed it up that badly?" He's quick and sharp. I can't wait for the debates.
