Bush "trying to soften his image overseas as heavy-handed unilateralist"
It's the ELECTION, stupid. Too little, too late.

Bush to Defend Iraq War in UN Address

NEW YORK — President Bush, trying to soften his image overseas as a heavy-handed unilateralist, is using his annual address to the United Nations to offer up a brighter vision of a planet with less hunger, disease and oppression.

Exactly six weeks before Election Day, Bush is equally concerned about his audience at home. In his speech Tuesday before the world body, Bush was making a firm defense of his decision to invade Iraq, although violence is surging and U.S. casualties mounting 17 months after the president declared major combat operations over.

Bush promised last weekend that he would lay out "some additional proposals to expand prosperity and accelerate the march of freedom in our world." They include efforts to treat and curb AIDS, spread democracy and promote better agricultural methods and education overseas.

"I will talk about the great possibilities of our time to improve health, expand prosperity and extend freedom in our world," Bush said in his weekly radio address. He said he would not back down in confronting terrorists, but he blended that message with talk of humanitarian causes.

2. It's Not What He Says That Offends Me Deeply,
It's what he does. While we strive to protect what little remains of the separation of Church and State, Bush has achieved something much more profound and unique in the annals of history; the separation of mind and body.

6. It's a little late to try and do a makeover... we have him on tape
miles of it... displaying exactly what he is... no need to try and morph into something you are not at this stage of the game... the prudent thing to do is move over and let someone have the reigns who really is that way from the getgo. Yeah... the resident should step down and let the men take over.
