Edited on Tue Sep-21-04 01:51 PM by truthisfreedom
http://www.nypost.com/commentary/30555.htm

The hot rumor in New York political circles has Roger Stone, the longtime GOP activist, as the source for Dan Rather's dubious Texas Air National Guard "memos."

The irony would be delicious, since Rather became famous confronting President Nixon, in whose service a very young Stone became associated with political "dirty tricks."

Reached at his Florida home, Stone had no comment.

18. I don't know who is running his campaign now, but...
they are doing it right.

- His speech last night was best ever.
- Letterman and Regis in the past day.
- Press conference today was really smart. The press loves a good PC. It makes them feel special.

All of the above in the last 24 hours or so.

33. one advantage Kerry has
the Bush people sure are predictable. In the debates, for example, Kerry knows that Bush is not going to say anything he hasn't said a million times before. Kerry, on the other hand, has the ability to surprise Bush.

28. Why doesn't Kerry cite the Generals & Republicans who are critical of *?
Edited on Tue Sep-21-04 01:59 PM by henslee
Kerry is doing okay but he gotta stop saying AS I SAID IN MY SPEECH YESTERDAY. He did use the word arrogant. He needs to use words like incompetent, isolation, go it alone.

Finally he referred to "taking your eye of the ball" re: Aghanistan.
Now he's cooking. President in denial. Terroritsts pouring across border....

He needs to be a bit more disgusted. He keeps getting asked/nailed the phony question about his vote for authorizaiton. He should refuse to answer that question again. Fuck these reporters. He's answered it a hundred times already. They are playing him.

He sounds a bit hoarse. He needs more energy. There he goes, talking about his speech yesterday. No need for big words like idealogues.

He gets a solid B, so far.

39. good point - people aren't going to go back and read his speech...
Rather than saying "as I said", use that time to say something else, or just say it again.

He needs to develop a positive image of a man with a plan. He needs to connect. He needs to be a person.

Still a B is better than he's been doing! Keep it up!!

78. kerry is presidential and knows his stuff. bush only has canned audiences
canned speeches etc. he will be in trouble in the debates if he has to intelligently articulate his vision and his accomplishments

kerry has been all over the place talking to real people and has the advantage (not that he needed it) but he now has done so many shows and speeches, plus this press conference, that we all know he will be able to answer the debate questions and has the ability to turn this thing on offense.

bush has little experience in doing this. yes hes had debates before and he rocked (cough) but this time he has to defend all his gigantic messes plus talk about his plan for the future.

theres nothing certain of course, but kerry has shown his mettle over and over and he is hitting a huge stride going into the debates.

bush is still living in a fantasy world of being told what is truth and what to say...
sad that.

69. Welcome....
and thanks for helping restore my faith just a little in Americans. I've really been concerned that people are buying dubya's con, and i can't stand thinking WE would fall for it.

73. Welcome to DU - No reason to hold your nose though
If you're a conservative who believes in a strong national defense and sound fiscal policies. If you vote for Kerry you're voting for the right guy.

76. Yeah, but I'd still have to hold my nose to vote Republican
no shame in that. I like to be open minded, but we all have partisan prejudicies... at least I do.

75. Open minds can be changed.
It's a shame that partisanship prevents some people from using their brains (regardless of political leanings.)

Fortunately for America, there are people like you who pay attention and vote your conscience rather than their party line.

A big welcome aboard, publius!

80. Now that's a man I can see leading the country, and the free world
A man we can all respect - not afraid to answer the tough questions or face a tough crowd.
