The dog that didn't bark -- where are the environmentalists?
Maybe this issue just doesn't poll very high, but maybe that's just because nobody has brought it up in front of americans.

But I'm wondering why we haven't seen some ads from the environmental groups attacking Bush's record.

Have these groups been minimalized by the repubs?

2. remember...
Environmentalists are now "Eco-Terrorists". Got to get your Big Media terminology straight.

Actually, the only one who seems to be hitting hard on the environment is RFK Jr. Unfortunately, the issue seems to be sinking below the radar in this election, and that's tragic, given the horrible environmental record of this administration.

3. I'll show you where at least one environmentalist is
I'm watching salmon return to streams they didn't spawn in, as the temperature in SE Alaska hit 103F this summer:

I'm watching coral reefs dying in Thailand as the Thai tourist industry happily cuts its own throat:

I'm waiting for Bush's response to a three-year study he commissioned so that we could learn (from the study) that the oceans are really fucked up:

I've been watching as ExxonMobil demands whatever it wants whenever it wants it:

I've been watching as Bush's administration attempts to block an international report on extremely rapid climate change in the Arctic:

But since all that matters is TerraTerraTerra, Scott & Laci, the CBS TANG memos and who gets kicked off the island next, the deathwatch has been rather lonely of late.

I can't speak for the rest, but that's where I've been.

4. I agree . . . and I think Kerry is missing a huge opportunity . . .
I still think he should label Bush an environmental disaster, and use the issue to point out the cronyinsm, illegality, and sleaze that characterize how BushCo does business . . . it's a great issue that spins off a number of great collateral issues, and I really believe that Kerry should be hitting Bush hard . . . I know the issue doesn't poll high, but that's primarily because no one is talking about it! . . . and given that Bush sure as hell isn't going to raise it, if Kerry doesn't it will remain a lost opportunity in this campaign . . .

5. Yep, you've written the slogan right there, OneBlueSky:
"BUSH IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER"

Thank you. I hope somebody near the campaign will pick this up.

A great site for keeping up with Bushco's daily environmental outrages is:

6. League of Conservation Voters:
The LCV is doing some serious grunt work. They are a bipartisan outfit, tough as that is these days. Nonetheless they have put bu$h on their official shit list, marked for defeat. They intend to have knocked on 1.5m doors by election day and have 25k volunteers on the street. A bigger question is why isn't Kerry beating the hell out of bu$h with this issue, which could be used as a wedge with the bullet & hook crowd and other repubs who aren't insane.
