2012 Repuke Nomination Poll: Romney 26, Palin 21, Huckabee 19, Gingrich 14
Edited on Thu Jul-16-09 12:32 PM by MadBadger

Looks like many in the GOP still love Sarah Palin, though her unfavorables are higher than anybody else as well.

Though among all Americans, Palin has a net unfavorable rating to Huckabee and Romney's net favorable.

1. If they want to stick to the Southern strategy they should go with Huckabee.
Not a good strategy anyway but probably also a losing formula.

3. If both Palin & Huck run, that greatly improves Romney's prospects.
Their votes largely come out of each others hide (social sonservatives and populists), though Palin has more charisma and taps into the boner vote. One on one, I'm sure as can be Romney would take Huck, and probably Palin, though she'd be more formidable in a Republican primary than Huck. At the same time, I think it would be better in a way for Republicans if they nominated Palin, because they and the country could benefit from them getting over the delusion that they'd win if they just nominated a pure enough conservative, and Palin getting shellacked in the general might help with that.
