Kerry Press release On TANG/CBS Documents
Kerry seems to be in full attack mode now. The Kerry campaign has just released a statement that demands the RNC come clean about whether it is involved in the disputed documents that have gotten Dan rather into so much hot water...

MCAULIFFE: WILL GOP ANSWER IF THEY KNOW WHETHER STONE, OTHERS HAD INVOLVEMENT WITH CBS DOCUMENTS?

Washington, D.C. - In response to false Republican accusations regarding the CBS documents, Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe issued this statement:

“In today’s New York Post, Roger Stone, who became associated with political ‘dirty tricks’ while working for Nixon, refused to deny that he was the source the CBS documents.

“Will Ed Gillespie or the White House admit today what they know about Mr. Stone’s relationship with these forged documents? Will they unequivocally rule out Mr. Stone’s involvement? Or for that matter, others with a known history of dirty tricks, such as Karl Rove or Ralph Reed?”

Paid for and authorized by the Democratic National Committee, www.democrats.org. This communication is not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee

this statement is from the DNC not the Kerry campaign.

14. Whatever
Point taken, but I doubt that the DNC would have done this on their own without getting the Kerry people to approve it, whatever the disclaimer at the end of the release says.

I dunno, I just get the impression that, behind closed doors, the forced smiles are put away and the two of them fight like cats and dogs. Yikes.

23. When I saw the pic of that ugly woman,
I thought how much fun it would be to pull her hair and scratch her face. I used to do that sort of thing in fourth grade. Too bad I'm a grownup now.

She looks like a female version of Satan.

24. Stone got kicked off the Dole Campaign in 1996
because him and his wife got caught running some kind of Internet porn site. They are quite the Dynamic Duo.

The icing on the cake is that Stone has known Rove since college. Lee Atwater worked for Stone. Get the picture?

Otherwise they wouldn't have dared to attack Stone. He is way too well connected.

18. I would not get too excited
that the DNC has the goods on Stone. This may be just to battle back against the cable news whores saying that Lockhart talked with Burkette.

The only source they site is the NY Post.

Fits a pattern of behavior with Rove though. The DNC should point that out and make the statement a little stronger.

like rabid dogs, wanting a congressional investigation and all. Well, all of a sudden everything went silent...as though someone on their side got on the phone and told everyone to shut the f*** up.

Something is definitely going on.

31. Good move DNC
Slam the RNC with the same kind of treatment. Gloves off. Very plausible to believe that a Roger Stone or a Karl Rove had their dirty hands on this. They only know how to win by cheating, lying, stealing, or planting fake evidence.

Edited on Tue Sep-21-04 05:07 PM by steviet_2003
Does anyone think that when it comes to politics they actually have a thread of journalistic integrity?

Could this not be another rove plant to try to get egg on the DNC's face? The exact same ploy worked with Rather, have someone plant a seed that the victim will pounce on, only to have it grow into a briar patch.

Something smells here.

37. I just got a funny feeling
This is all happening so fast from both sides. Here's my theory: First we have a journlist who has had 30 years of reporting. He says the story is not dead. Now we have GOP saying democrates did this. Then we have a quick counter.

This is where I'm really starting to get the feeling of something bigger to come. Meaning Dan Rathers if the investigated would have known Stone. DNC put it together pretty fast. The links to Nixon keep coming up. Dan says the documents are still real. Now we are forgetting a certain lady who has SAID THOSE DOCUMENTS CONTENTS ARE SIMILAR TO WHAT I WROTE DOCUMENTS ARE FALSE; BUT CONTEXT IS REAL.

We are forgetting the whitness. Now the reason why I say this is important because my theory is that Dan Rathers knew these documents were fake. However they did a investagation. This whitness they have is important because she said she wrote the documents. Meaning there is a possibility she had the real documents. She also knew the context. Right now we are linking it to Karl Rove; but what if this is the real issue Dan Rathers set the bait for Karl Rove.

I'm willing to beat just as I have seen one lady on hardball say there is more to this story then any of us know. I think that lady had the same feeling I'm starting to have in that CBS is still holding a trumpt card.

41. What if?
The reason why they haven't covered it is because there is something bigger to the story then just the documents? What if they are about to present proof of a larger conspiracy to take over congress and to take over the power of the country? Now wouldn't you need to provide a large example of what that force is capable of?
