Enough of all this bullshit, today is the breaking point. When I see something CBS has done spun into "Kerry and his handlers being involved" and when I see news readers like Sam Shane (MSNBC) wincing, ( you can see he doesn't want to report this forced message ) saying that it was "suspicious" that Joe Lockhart had a phone call with Burkett we have reached a point where drastic measures have to be taken.

I have zero political organization skills. So I ask the fine minds I see here regularly to please get this ball rolling. If we don't do something organized, massive and with conviction now everything we knew of America might very well be gone!

3. Cable News is right leaning

The biggest audience for cable news is mature, well-monied people. And there aren't all that many of them.

In contrast, CNN and MSNBC both attracted less than a third of the same market share, stated a news release from Fox News Channel. In prime time, Fox News Channel commanded 55% of the cable news market share, averaging 1.4 million viewers, while CNN claimed 32% of that audience with 828,000 viewers. During Rick Kaplan's first full quarter as president of MSNBC, its prime-time line-up attracted 13% of the cable news audience with 321,000 viewers (down 41% in viewership year to year).

CNN's 828,000 is less than 1/2% of the US population. People watch the "news" which panders to their viewpoint so I don't see the cable nets changing much.

My hope is in alternative sources (internet, AAR). We can't stop the other side from owning news outlets but at least we can have our own.

8. It's not about trying to change the corporate news media

It's about getting thru the filter to the average everyday American! There is NO way at this point to change the media. That would require legislation in the form of the Media Act.

There are many seniors, people working 2 jobs and those that just despise politics that get their information from these corporate news channels. If they finally are able to hear people are organizing and saying things they have always felt then they too will come on board.

find AAR locally and the BBC World News (not perfect but at least a sober presentation of facts) which is usually on a local PBS station. Likewise the Daily Show is a nice place to tune in a feel sane for a change.
