Judge Baer's order to the Pentagon to release Bush records.

Last Wednesday Judge Baer gave the Pentagon until next week to release any previously unreleased files about President Bush's military record to the Associated Press as a result of their Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.

Does anyone know the actual deadline for the relase and does anyone think anything interesting will come out.

...I don't think it'll be much. The Shrub has gotten a lot of help scrubbing his post-1971 military records. I doubt they'll come up with anything noteworthy.

Bush was high, didn't want to take his physical, figured he was so important he didn't have to go by the same rules as everyone else. By now anybody who wants to know knows. The rest have their heads in the sand.

Kerry is getting smart by sticking it to * on the Iraq issue, healthcare, deficit spending, and everything else Dubya has screwed up or ignored. 42 days is too little time to dwell on stuff that happened 30 years ago when the country is facing going to Hell in a handbasket.

resistance but do you think he got to scrub the federal records. In addition, so many of the military guys at the Pentagon are angry at the civilian idiots that are bossing them around I thought they just might find more info.

...that has already gone into the Supreme Court, and made the argument, with a straight face, that between elections the President has essentially the same powers, and is subject to the same constraints -- namely none -- as Louis XIV. 10. Pentagon said its search would be done by yesterday but

the judge gave them until Friday to hand them over.

That gives the Pentagon a week to, you know, check the records for accuracy. Don't want any misleading stories out there, y'know.

11. Maybe the Pentagon "found" some docs and

that is one of the reasons why shurb and co. are canceling their scheduled appearances. They need to huddle up to figure out a way to blame his being AWOL in Alabama on Kerry.

Pentagon officials told Baer they plan to have their search complete by Monday. Baer ordered the Pentagon to hand over the records to the AP by Sept. 24 and provide a written statement by Sept. 29 detailing the search for more records.

16. Shrub and company thinks the CBS flap has mooted

the whole thing. They'll tell the judge to go pound sand. They won't hand anything over to him and no news outlet will say boo about it.

17. I don't think this is up to the White House - it is up to the

Pentagon. I don't think they will blow off the Judge - I don't think they can. However, I think the whole Rather/memo thing was deisgned to soften the blow if the Pentagon does find some records.
