1. Update?
I started boycotting TTS, so I had no idea they were still following this.

2. Sorry, It drives me nuts when other posters do this..

Lauer was interviewing Dan Bartlett at first about the alleged
forgery story...I thought it was going to be same old, same old when out of the blue Lauer says, but isn't it the CONTENTS that are the focus, specifically the President missing his physical? Lauer went on to say there were many different stories about the reason he mssed the exam. Bartlett seemed a tad taken aback, however, rebounded with the party line, released to help a campaign, honorable discharge, physical "not necessary" since he wasn't flying blah, blah, blah.

Then he gave Joe Lockhart a chance to respond, and Joe Lockhart had the opportunity to say, look there are lots of questions of about the prez's service, and referenced NYT story yesterday...but that's not what the campaign is focusing on (LOL)

Then Lockhart says Bartlett doesn't have any guts because he won't debate Lockhart one on one on any of the shows, as well as describing the "contempt" the White House has for the country.

edited to add...and Lauer actually gave him the opportunity to get out his message without interrupting or arguing the WH line.

Surprise,surprise. MKJ

3. Lockhart Kicked Serious Rethug Butt....

They keep lying about the physical, but as the former, last good host, of Washington Week, Ken Bode, said last night on Hardball, this has in effect "insulated" Bush from further inquiry into his Guard Service or the lack thereof. I think he's right. Lauer didn't followup on the lies.

The only thing that can save this is to out Roger Stone as the culprit in duping Burkett.

Meanwhile, the killing goes on in Iraq, and Bush says the CIA is just guessing. I guess he thinks he's not because God is telling him the truth about Iraq.

4. I don't see how you can get insulated from anything. Look what
they did to Clinton. The door is wide open now. Is the contents of the documents meant to defraud or is it consistent with the truth? If it's consistent with the truth...well, actually, just proving it's consistent with the truth is a win for the Dems.

5. You get "insulated" by being Chimpy McCokespoon...
and having every last media whore in your back pocket as per the dictates of their corporate ownership.

It good to be King when your George W. Bush in Korporate Amerika! :puke:

6. I agree.
A good prosecutor won't throw out a case just because the defense called some of the evidence into question.

The memos are just a sideshow.

7. * should prove he is right about Iraq by going there
he won't even go visit the troops without staging some fake appearance, flying in secretly and hiding out while there.

What an odd duck * is - he believes CIA when they say WMDs, but won't believe them when they say things are really f**ked up there.

8. Good ole' Dan has really been taking some hits lately!
One of the reporters on cspan this morning (Todd I think) talked about an online chat yesterday where someone was asking the real toughies, like why don't you focus on the Pres not taking his required physical, why is the Pres ignoring the report on the real situation in Iraq, and a number of other rough questions. This was on something called ask the WH that I think was on the WH web site. Todd said right after those questions were posted, Bartlett said he had to go and he signed off. WH is now trying to figure out how this poster got passed the screeners. The last ask the WH session was with the WH chief of staff, and all the questions were soft balls like what kind of hamburgers do they usually serve ther.

The most interesting part of this story was that they SCREEN the chat too!!!!

9. FAKE but ACCURATE!
Remember, these documents, while forged, were ACCURATE!!! We need to keep focused on the questions. Keep asking for answers. We're onto something here.
