2. haha...
my sentiments exactly.

their ads don't have much mental staying power...but then again cable news is one big ad for them.

3. Why doesn't the Kerry campaign talk about Bush's vacations?
Edited on Wed Sep-22-04 09:15 AM by terrya
Hit them back with that...Bush has spent 40% of his Presidency on vacation. Couple that with the problems here at home...millions of jobs lost, millions of working families without health care. It shows Bush's utter, complete indifference to the problems of ordinary Americans. That would be a great ad.

where there's a teenage girl or a someone SUPPOOSED to be a younger person talking in clipped sentences of "like whatever" and stupid idiocy like that?

Is that ALL they can come up with? Pathetic.

Edited on Wed Sep-22-04 09:17 AM by dirk
What audience is that aimed at, 12 year olds? I doubt very much it will have any effect at all on anyone over the age of 18, it has the feel of a Nickelodeon cartoon. Nice to see such a waste of money on their part. I didn't catch who paid for it--is it a Bush ad or someone else?

8. I've seen porn flicks with better production!
Very amateurish.

This thing is so bad, it looks like a Kerry-friendly group put it out to make the GOP ones look bad.

14. Yes, saw it on CNN this morning. I'd like to see an ad showing
shrub falling of his bike, and all the other things he's fallen off of in the past year or so. Maybe with a tag line of "Uncoordinated in thought and on his feet!"

17. Wind surfer
This is Goddess40's mom. I have been given the job by the WI Democratic campaign to tape the local news and send a synopsis to the Research Director for Victory Wisconsin '04. The wind surfer ad was put out by Progress for American Voter Fund. They include the disclaimer they are not connected with any candidate or campaign. To me this ad actually appeals to young voters who will think how cool it is to wind surf.
The flip side of this ad would be one saying *'s hobby is bike riding and crashing just like all his policies.

21. it's pretty lame, but also effective
I think because it is SO incredibly dumb and childish the public will begin to goble it up. Hopefully it doesn't get much airtime.

At first I thought it was for some MTV spring break special.

22. Sorry, but you touched a nerve....

I personally HATE when I see Kerry windsurfing or all spandexed up like Lance Armstrong or playing Jai Alai or badminton or rollerblading or whatever the hell us he can come up with that just looks undignified.

Just as, if I wanted Bush to win, I would tell him to stay the hell off of bikes, I wish Kerry would put on a suit and focus on looking presidential.

This race is about war and the economy and neither one of those things seems like a job for a skate punk.

Meanwhile, they've got Bush at a fake ranch, in fake dirt, clearing fake brush. The subtext is that Bush is hardworking and just plain good people--hell, he works for FUN!

24. Sometimes I think they're using the same damn picture
over and over and over.

I suppose it could be a bunch of times he went surfing, but they always look so familiar.

Eh, I could give a tinker's damn. If that's how he clears his head, so be it. And no one looks digified in a bike helmet.

But this is part of that elitist bullcrap. I live near a lake in an area that is comfortable but not rich. You see jetskis and boats and parasailing and all sorts of watersports. Does that make us elitist? No. But you could probably make us look elitist in an ad though.

He can look presidential when he's giving a speech, if that's battery recharging mode for him I can't say I wish he's stop. It sure has worked lately.

Anyone can make someone look like a dork if they follow that person around enough. With Bush, sometimes all it takes is watching him give a speech.

25. And I repeat my comment on this issue
I live in a place where Kerry's ability to snowboard, ride a bike and windsurf makes him more popular and substantially improves his ratings. I admit, some of us are shallow and insipid, but we LIKE seeing our guy displaying coordination and physical prowess.

ridiculing and mocking *.

The ad is just a continuation of the whole flip/flop theme.

Trying to pile on. They look desperate, juvenile and silly. How nice for us!
