"Kerry met with North Vietnamese." Swift boat liars, latest ad.
The Washington Post today reported that the "Swift Boat Vets for Truth," you know, that group of lying M****r F***ers, have a new ad saying that Kerry met with the North Vietnamese and they're trying to tie it into Jane Fonda (aka "Hanoi Jane" to super-patriotic assholes.)

In 1971, peace talks were going on in Paris between the U.S. Government and North Vietnam. Kerry attended these talks for a short period, but the swift boat scum have turned this into a "Kerry meets with North Vietnamese" commercial.

What fucking sewer rats. Although these "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" have served their country, their actions against Kerry have besmirched their service, their honor, their character and (if such a thing exists) their souls. About the most positive thing I can say about them is, let them rot along with Bush/Cheney/Rove, wherever they finally end up.

(Can't get the url for this Washington Post article. Pull up httm://www.washingtonpost.com. It's one of their lead stories.)

13. Swift Boat Bedwetters
These creeps seem to think Kerry went to Paris without the approval of our government. Bulls#*t!!! He was clearly trying to get POW's released, using his leadership of the VVAW and active duty status in the Naval Reserves to make his visit legitimate. BWaaah! Bloodlusting crybabies and babykillers!!! They can't stand Kerry's leadership because it led to peace.

3. Another point their followers like to try and make
(although false) is that the Vietnamese have a picture of Kerry in one of their museums bc he helped them win the war. The picture is there w/ John McCain's, but the reason it is there is because the two of them normalized relations with Vietnam in the 90's.

5. Didn't Kissinger meet with them as well?
These people excel at distortion and smear. They are scum almost as low as Rush Limbaugh if that is possible.

23. Not only that, but Kissinger LIED to the NV and kept the war going longer
as a result. I guess that makes Henry a "patriot" by wingnut thinking.

8. Hey, Kerry *did* 'talk' with the N-Vietnamese...
Edited on Wed Sep-22-04 11:10 AM by NV1962
He also talked with the S-Vietnamese.

In Paris.

No secret: he acknowledged as much during his testimony before the Senate's Foreign Relations Committee on April 22, 1971.

Text (and even video) of that testimony is amply available.

SOOOOOOO...

Going into "plain" denial doesn't work. What the swiftboatbats need is a good drubbing with THEIR lies -- ranging from the patently FALSE "I served with Kerry" claims -- to the insidious innuendo that talking to the N-Vietnamese somehow constitutes "treason" when he was in Paris representing (among others) VVAW.

Those swiftboatbats need to be HARDBALLED as a disgraceful slowboat packed with rats shilling for a sinking Bush administration that besmirches all Veterans -- past and present -- with their common cowardly, treasonous and mendacious behavior in public.

12. This is a desperate move by desperate red necks
I don't think that this kind of nonsense will sway anybody, and if it does, the people who would be influenced by this can't be helped anyway.

19. Wrong. You can't ignore these assholes.
Every lie they put out must be responded to strongly, quickly and with outrage. Dukakis ignored attacks and got buried by poppy Bush's lies.

21. But it didn't stick
These ads look foolish now, and they aren't getting press exposure anymore. However, I tend to overestimate the intelligence of the public sometimes.

The rebuttal is quick and effective at making the right-wing look like complete liars that have no respect for voters. We've got to fight this.

17. Kerry, that bastard
he took time out of his honeymoon in Paris to attend the peace talks with the delegation and to attempt to negotiate the release of American POW's.

What a prick.

Always trying to save American lives, that bastard.
