When Kerry says he will press for international support
I do believe him..I mean all the repukes roll their eyes and shake their heads...Kerry already has international support...they are hoping the American people come through..and ELECT a president that has the right attitude...

Am I being Naive in believing that he can get some more support? they don't want to help * because he made this decision and neglected to listen to anyone that opposed that decision, but they know Kerry will need help to get this to a stable situation....am I wrong to think that in his 4 pt plan that he can acheive this? Its not going to happen immediately but he can do it...

1. I like the way
Kerry expressed it in his press conference yesterday.

He said he would call a summit and get differing views on how to solve the problem, come ot an agreement and then hold the participants accountable for their committments.

Sounds like a classic problem-solving session to me......

2. And what about working with the local Iraqi leaders?
Haven't heard Kerry say anything about this. While he's convening a summit with mostly European nations, Sistani could be leading a giant march against Allawi and foreign forces demanding the foreigners leave Iraq.

What if leaders, like Sistani, say they'ved had enough foreign intervention? What then?

5. The way I see it..
To me international support does not mean blind allegiance to all the U.S. says and does. This is a point Bush supporters do not seem to get. To them, if a country sees things differently from the U.S., then that country is against the U.S. I have not met one foreigner who is against Americans. I have met many (and I am one of them) who are against this administration's policies and worldview, however.

I believe that Kerry would utilize all available means to forge agreements, strategic alliances and partnerships for the betterment of a nation, a region or the world, while preserving the interests of the U.S., but not at the expense or detriment of other countries.

In my opinion, Dubya instead has relied on arrogance and a misguided knowledge of world culture to disregard completely other countries' advices and opinions. A great country and a great leader should be able to at least listen to various opinions, including the ones they do not agree with. Sometimes, the U.S. does not have all the answers. History has shown that going alone in the world only creates resentment and more enemies, which we do not need.
