CHECKIN "It's National Security, Stupid" Crowd. Time to Raise a Cheer
Edited on Sun Sep-19-04 10:57 PM by WiseMen
for final push to victory.

Not to dismiss those who argue that Bush is an all-round failure and
that Democrats do better on domestic issues, BUT many of us have been
arguing that:

It’s National Security, stupid. We may want to pretend otherwise, but as you well know, an incumbent President can usually determine the debate. In a post-9/11 world with bombs dropping in Iraq, it is impossible to deny Bush his chosen field of battle. The campaign must be fought and won on the field of war on terror and the terror of war, or it will be lost. The failure of the campaign to confront the President head-on 9-11 and Iraq and recent attempts to say “we are moving on to jobs and health-care” is fundamentally misguided.

NOW, John Kerry is geared up to lead the fight in this battle
with every ounce of energy. And, Bush has so fucked up Iraq,
the "war on terror" and the entire world order, that Kerry and his
surrogates can let loose with almost any slam and still be within
bounds.

This is going to be fun.

2. I agree
For many Americans, national security is always the number one issue. For some reason a lot of Americans seem uninformed about how badly chimpy has screwed that up. Kerry can wade in and clean up the mat with chimpy on this.

for Bush on national security.

That just isn't right.

There isn't enough time for Bush to convince anyone his economic policies are good. If we can bring down his NS favorables, we can beat him easily (barring voting machine fraud).
