The Memos Knox said she typed.
I have a question. Knox said she did not type those memos CBS had, but that she typed some with a same/similar content. So where are the memos she said she typed?

I have seen this question asked and I have asked the same question, but no one seems to have any answer for this. Or maybe I just missed the answers.

BTW: This is more of just being curious and IMO the campaign needs to move on to real issues. But I am still wondering where those real memos went.

1. Good question
The easy out answer is that they were "inadvertantly destroyed" while trying to preserve the records.........

2. ALL MEDIA SHOULD HAVE KNOX ON EVERYWHERE all the time
"Here's the authentication ... to hell with forged documents... IT'S THE CONTENT, STUPID!!! ... "

THAT'S WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD SAY TO THE MEDIA.

6. Yeah...
...that "liberal" media that the neocons complain about all the time. They sure picked up on this....NOT! And Bush's NG records are a mess and there are gaps all over the place and that is just OK with them. Geez!

3. Those are the memos that BushInc had tossed that Burkett tried to replace.
But obviously NO reporter dares to mention that.

4. You know...
...that is the only answer I could come up with. I found Knox to be very credible. And if she said she typed memos like that, they either still exist or they were cleaned out of GWB's file. Those are IMO the only possibilities. Since they cannot be found, then the only other answer is that someone cleaned the file like Burkett said.

What I think is that Burkett is correct on this and did see what happened - the file cleaning...and out of good motives, but wrong methods, wanted the truth to come out.

5. I think in the interview Knox did not say she typed any of the memos...
...that Col Killian may have typed his own memos himself and stored them away privately to cover his back-side. He did say that the memos were not likely to be authentic, but that all of the claims and points that were in those memos were in facts what Killian repeatedly talked about and shared and was overheard by her at various times whenever the subject of Bush's service came up. She also said that George Bush was discussed often by Killian to other superior officers and that his service was looked at by even his peers as getting special treatment and "getting away with bending the rules". She even gave her observation and opinion that Bush himself stated and commented that the rules did not apply to him. That's my recollection of the interview between Knox and Dan Rather.

7. You remember...
...better than I do and I will go with what you said. I thought she said she typed similar memos. But you are probably correct on what you say more than what I recall.

8. She said she typed similar memos. Burkett said he saw Bush's file in
the trash. I think he just "re-typed" what he read and perceived to have been destroyed. He was trying to re-create history as nobody seemed to believe him when he said he saw the file in the garbage can. So, IMO, good intentions, bad outcome. He shouldn't have made the documents, if that's what he did, but perhaps told CBS again what he knew and pointed them to Knox.

11. Guard officials have said that...
... Killian's official files would have been removed prior to the time that his family would have been allowed to remove his personal effects at the time of his death.

So, they're sitting in boxes in storage somewhere, presuming that they were required to be kept.

12. That...
...or they threw his files out - for various reasons. But...they must have known that he kept file memos if they got this effects when the died. Isn't that a bit odd that they would deny this? But maybe they just did not know what was there.

13. I doubt his family has seen them...
... as I say, they went into Guard storage. When I mention personal effects, I don't mean his personal files--rather, I'm suggesting things like pictures, mementos, etc.

His files probably went to the ANG. Somewhere, there's a pile of boxes full of paper. Some of those pieces of paper probably have George W. Bush's name on them.

Cheers.

14. Killian may have suspected they would be cleansed
and typed his own. He was being asked to lie, after all. If Knox' memo were lost, where would he be? So he probably struggled through typing his own, without telling her.
