Who will Kerry allow to buy into the FEHBP?
Will it be only those aged 55-64, who Kerry promised in the primary could buy into Medicare?

Will it be all the uninsured who receive it, but who couldn't purchased it at the workplace?

Or has he made no firm promises regarding health care reform?

From MSNBC...Kerry's position on health care reform

Expand existing insurance system for federal employees to private citizens through tax credits and subsidies. Unemployed would get 75 percent tax credit to help pay for insurance. Tax credits for small businesses and their employees for health insurance. People aged 55 to 64 could buy into federal employees’ health plan at affordable price. Government would help companies and insurers pay an employee’s catastrophic medical costs if the firms would agree to hold down premiums. Federal support to expand access to state-administered health insurance for children. Overall costs estimated by outside analyst at $895 billion over 10 years, to cover 27 million more people. Also, require mandatory financing for veterans health care."

Is Kerry's position the same as Gore's worthless one in 2000, or would he actually try to help people outside this exclusive age group?

1. John Kerry's plan would allow all Americans to join FEHBP
Today, nine million Federal employees and their dependents get health care through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP), which offers a wide choice of affordable health plans with group protections and good benefits. John Kerry believes that all Americans should have access to the same affordable coverage policies that Members of Congress get today.

John Kerry's plan would allow all Americans to join FEHBP by adding a new pool for small and large businesses, as well as individuals and families who need affordable health insurance. A new 'premium rebate' program will provide subsidies to help stabilize insurance rates and keep coverage affordable by removing the burden of high cost cases from the insurance pool. These premium rebates have the potential of saving Americans up to 10 percent (or $1000 for a family) on their current health care costs. John Kerry will also sign an Executive Order to ensure participants will be guaranteed the right to family health benefits for their domestic partners.

2. that's what USA Today reports..

it makes me sick that any major networks get facts as big as this wrong, and yet the American people still trust them to accurately report information about our candidates :tinfoilhat:

Hopefully the Kerry campaign will not allow MSNBC to get away with this screwup!
