Why won't the Dems spank the media.....
to change the dynamic of this race? We will win the debate on the issues. The Bush record is a loser for them and we must change the dynamic of the media coverage.

And to do this, all Kerry has to do is insert just a small mention of the media, especially the cable news networks. All he has to do is point out that we are in the midst of a debate of huge implications and all the news want to do is dig up garabge from 35 yrs ago and they should be ashamed of themselves in their poor coverage of the issues.

ISSUES, ISSUES, ISSUES

What people so often forget is how vain the media members are - fire a round across their bow and they'll be talking about it for some time - they just love to talk about themselves.

1. i like what Howard dean said
to wolfie once..he said "gosh I wonder if your read the NYT article, you guys need to start doing your job" or something to that degree...

I wish more dems would call out the media instead of sitting there waiting for them to ask a stupid question that will then get trashed by their repuke counterpart

3. I agree. Kerry and otehr Democrats should call them out.
The media whines that Kerry "has no message" and "never gives proposals. But at the same time, they ignore him when he gives his message and they don't talk about his proposals.

They also whine that he is muddled, but when he boils it down they whine that he is being too vague.

Kerry ought to call them on their bullshit.

5. Issues=Iraq
Be specific, or you'll end up with something like "Promises, Promises" -- an upcoming, cynical piece by one of the cable giants on Bush's vs. Kerry's health care proposals. The punchline, of course, is that both will cost a lot of money. Really makes people want to run out and vote.

Demand news on Iraq.

7. Sorry, but that's glib, highschool-football-coach BS
Every DUer could email every mediawhore every day, and there's no way the media will change by november 2.

There are only 2 ways we can ever hope to realign the coverage a point or two toward balance:

1) Our spokespeople and surrogates must relentelssly call the whores on their bias on air in real time. Make them defend why they have two rethugs and one dem on in front of their viewers. Make them defend the Gallop Poll samples on air. Make them explain why they're repeating rethug talking points word for word.

Guess what, if Judy knows she's going to be called on repeating RNC points by a dem holding a copy of the RNC points, she'll probably stop. If Timmy knows his dem gues is going to call him on taking quotes out of context (remember Clark handing Russert a copy of Clark's article Timmy quoted out of context) he'll make sure he quotes accurately.

2) As soon as they are booked on a show, our surrogates have to get a coppy of OUR points and be prepared hit them no matter what the question is, no matter what the rethug guest says, no matter if Chris Matthews tries to interrupt. Roley Poley does two or three reports a day. If we have 6 surrogates repeat our message on eight shows, guess whose words people will remember?

I'll just say it: If we do the above, we can win. If we don't, we'll lose.
