AWOL wants to change Social Security (Reuters) --- tell ALL seniors NOW
Snow Says U.S. Social Security Needs to Be Changed

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow on Monday agreed with recent calls to reform Social Security (news - web sites) and Medicare but offered no new proposals to keep the income and heath insurance programs for the elderly solvent.

"Simply put, change is needed," Snow said in remarks at a lunch sponsored by the National Press Club in Washington. "While we have some time to fix the problem, inaction is not a responsible option."

1. sing from the mountaintops....look at what Gresnpan said (same article)
In his Aug. 27 speech in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to a Fed conference, Greenspan said it may be necessary to "recalibrate" the programs so future retirees can make other arrangements for their old age. "If we delay, the adjustments could be abrupt and painful," Greenspan said.
