Since they are given talking points, you can see what's coming later in the day and in the week. Today it is UN bashing. Painting Annan as aiding the terrorists with his "illegal war" comments and the U.N. timid by insititutional disposition, one congressman on Fox this a.m., was trying to paint a clear picture of Kerry reflecting the worst qualities of Annan and the U.N., even though all he was asked is "what will Bush say to the General Assembly?"

In all likelihood, this is the first salvo against Kerry's plan for Iraq: to get more nations involved.

Thus, one hears one drum-beat which will be sounded for 2-5 days.

I'm not saying that Kerry should not go on the offensive, but that it's very important to know your opponent's next move in order to counter-punch and not be distracted (and thus, again, defensive).

2. They started that last nite ...
running a "special report" on the Oil for Aid program and how the UN is ripping them off and may have direct ties with Saddam Hussien.

So instead of giving the money to the UN, give it to the liberators. Hell, Haliburton hasn't scammed anyone.

3. I heard part of that show about the Oil for Food program...
I was in the other room and could only hear it but not see what channel it was. After only listening for 3 minutes, I yelled at my husband, "Is that Fox? I can tell just by listening to it." Sure enough, it was.

We immediately changed the channel.

The May, 2004 issue of The Nation debunks the Oil for Food Scandal...

I'll post a link if I can find the article online.

6. So they paint the UN as weak and corrupt and pro-terrorist, then

tie Kerry to the U.N. through his plan to deal with Iraq by "getting more nations involved." Seems like a tenuous thread, but Rove's a master weaver.

7. that would be another HUGE Bush flipflop, though, cause he's
gone hat in hand several times, both in front of and behind the scenes, to get them to take on some of the ordure necessary to make the hellscene a little bit less horrendous

hope Kerry will point out all these contradictions
