Hammer the point: WHERE ARE THE MEMOS KNOX TYPED?
I don't think the fact that Knox said that she typed memos very similar to the ones CBS had, just not THOSE memos has been hammered hard enough.

I think we should be emailing this question to all the news outlets that do stories making Rather/CBS/forgery the story instead of bu**sh**'s actual record. And also posting the questions in the media's bulletin boards/discussion forums. And letters to the editors, did I forget letters to the editors? We don't have to get into lengthy discussions about fonts and word processors. Just ask the question over and over: Knox said she typed memos very similar to the ones CBS had, just not THOSE memos. WHERE ARE THE MEMOS KNOX TYPED?

1. We simply need to let this story go.
The more the media discusses this story (and it could go on and on with no
real resolution) the less attention Iraq and the economy get.

WE know Bush did not serve with one ounce of honor during Viet Nam.
But at this point most have made up their mind one way or the other.
It's a losing issue in that it is a sink hole of media time.

4. Some DUers are so touchy
I may only have 2o something posts but I don't need to defend my life long and die-hard
affiliation to the Democratic Party.

I want nothing more than to get the most reviled president out of the White House,
I am giving my opinion on how to do it.

If you don't like my opinion then so be it.

I still say... LET IT GO!!!

Focus on Iraq. Focus on the deficit.

The Right wing media controls the message these days. We will never
win with memo-gate. Not without incontrovertible proof. And even that
might not be enough given the power of the corporate media.

10. 50 something
No matter how damming this is there are kids dieing in Iraq. There is a possible draft on the way, the Supreme Court may be loaded with wingnuts, neo-cons in the Pentagon have probably committed treason, the U.S is alienating long time allies, the economy is in the pits, and our Constitutional Rights are being trampled.

I only have 50 some posts. Let CBS play this out, the Democrats DNC had nothing to do with memo-gate.

3. "We" are clearly not in control...
of whether this story gets "let go" or not. This is the media's hobby horse, and we're just along for the ride. That being the case, let's at least TRY to direct the media's attention back to where it belongs - bu**sh** and his record. His missing record.

6. Maybe he did.
Rather is essentially fighting for his career now. I'm not sure the Bushies appreciate what that could mean for them. I don't think we have heard the last of this.

7. Very few voters care about the memos/national guard issue
Voters will defeat or elect Bush based on his four year record as president.

9. thats well and good, and i agree
adn there is more than enough shit to get him on in the four years, i can make a couple page list. i do disagree that voterswill elect bush based on records though, or else he wouldnt have any supporters

first, like a post suggesting edwards go on oprah. there will be voters that cast a vote if they get all touchy feeling with edwards looks and family man and loving husband

there will be those that have a smidgen of integrity left just disgusted if proven bush scrubbed his records

there will be the vets or family members of vets that will be bothered he didnt even fulfill this

but mostly, i just wnat the asshole to have his lie exposed. i really dont care if it has anything to do with the election, i dont want that in my face i served honorably crap when we all know he didnt

is this what the election is all about, surely not. but then i can look at what he has done and come to a conclusion, unfortunately there are many in the country that dont vote off of facts

8. Yeah, he should have
I don't know why he didn't, but I'm hoping a reporter of Rather's caliber doesn't let that go without a reason. Maybe *that* is what he's got up his sleeve to come back with. Otherwise, it's just a dropped ball, and I don't know why he'd do that.

bush released all documents 5 times

LOL. And each time it was "Ok, that's all of them folks, really. There aren't any more. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Well... um... maybe a couple more, but really, THOSE are the last. For sure. We really, really mean it this time... or... well..."
