MSNBC: "Could 2nd Bush term mean another war?"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6047304/

WASHINGTON - Playing on the fear factor, Vice President Dick Cheney suggested in a campaign speech there might be another terrorist attack on the United States if John Kerry were in the White House.

President Bush opponents’ also are raising their own worst fears, including the potential for more wars during a second Bush term.

“That’s fear-mongering,” said Joseph Carafano, a 25-year Army veteran and former West Point professor who now is an analyst with the conservative Heritage Foundation.

“The Bush administration is on a crusade to make the world safe for democracy and part of that ... is eliminating countries of anti-Western aggression,” said Loren Thompson, a military analyst at the Lexington Institute think tank in Washington. “They may not like me to say that on the eve of the election, but that’s a fact,” Thompson said. “It’s less likely to happen with a Kerry administration.”

2. "eliminating countries"?????????
The fact that Kerry isn't jumping on that bandwagon is a good thing.

Heaven help us. These people are nuts.

3. Gut wrenching photo

The partisan commentary and context cheapens it.

15. No way is it "cheapened"!
"Partisan commentary"? Uh-huh....whatever!

The commentary is what makes it powerful especially when juxtaposed with Bush*'s typical, self-satisfied smirk that captures his damnes essence perfectly!

4. No. They's just expand the current "war."
Once you have a franchise called the War on Terror that you can use for any dumb-ass purpose you want (such as invading an unrelated country), you don't need to declare new wars.

Just add budget to the current line items. The Bush war on terrorism is LOE (level of effort), not fixed price.

5. ya think? We know all about four more wars, but I found out the
other day just how uninformed and brain dead some people are.

A relative, in her early 50s, single issue voter (abortion)and supposedly educated and informed, asked - do you think Elizabeth Edwards will be able to get along with Mrs. Kerry? I said why do you ask. She said, well, I've heard Mrs. Kerry is a terrible person to be around. Also, do you know why Kerry divorced his first wife? I said no, but Reagan was divorced.

She went on...you know, Tipper Gore just had a horrible time being around Hillary. Me - oh really? I never heard that. She - oh yeah, they had many well-publicized fights. I asked if she read these things in the National Enquirer or heard it on Fox - I said both are junk.

I told her Nancy Reagan and Barbara Bush disliked each other - and asked if she noticed Barbara Bush wore a WHITE suit to Reagan's funeral, while all the other women wore black. This shocked my relative - she thought it was terrible and said, we all know Barbara Bush is the one who runs everything in that family!

Who knows, maybe hearing about that white suit will turn her pea brain against bush. She seems incapable of grasping the concept of bush being a war monger, in spite of having two draft age sons.

7. Just watch: Kerry will muddle this one, but here is how not to...
.....he will shoot from the hip and say something against Bush's pre-emptive war policies, then the repugs will jump on it and say that Kerry will be too big of a chicken to do what is necessary to protect America and won't respond until after we are attacked again..

How Kerry can beat this is just put a bug in the American peoples'
heads that if Bush is re-elected, who knows what country we will be in next, but that we will be in another one....

8. Cheney suggesting there will be a terrorist attack if Kerry is President
is like he is saying, BET YOUR LIFE ON IT .... WE WILL SEE TO IT THAT THERE IS ANOTHER BUSH PERPETRATED TERRORIST ATTACK ON THIS COUNTRY...AND THAT WOULD HAPPEN BEFORE JAN. 20TH.

9. Reminded of another presidential race...
(before my time, but my Dad tells me about it)

"If you vote for Goldwater, they'll bomb North Vietnam".

Dad voted for Goldwater, and sure enought, they bombed North Vietnam. Sure showed him.

So, if I vote for Kerry, will there be another terror attack on this country, WHETHER KERRY WINS OR NOT? Bet on it.

10. What kind of an ad is that?
It says doubts are raised about al Sadr leaving the shrine and ending an uprising -- isn't that exactly what happened? Is this intended to glorify an American victory? To make it seem like it was worth it? It seems like you could get a better quote, or are you trying to sneak something in under the radar screen with the Kerry-Edwards sticker?

12. I wish I understood what the hell you're talking about.
The text went with the original Reuters photo of the girl.

Bush is added for "irony." These things are happening, he could care less.

Kerry-Edwards as the antidote to Bush.

That's it.

I don't "sneak" jack shit under, over, or through the radar.

I could have gotten a better quote if Reuters had put a better quote on the photo. Look HERE:

http://news.search.yahoo.com/search/news/?ei=UTF-8&p=mays+an+iraqi+shi%27ite+girl&c=news_photos

And I'm not even going to try to understand where the "Is this intended to glorify an American victory?" comment came from.

Have a nice day. Reconsider the tone of your replies.

13. To each their own
I don't see that glorifying what is happening over there by pointing out that al Sadr left Najaf after he said he wouldn't is going to do much for Kerry-Edwards but have a nice day. You needn't be so snippy about it, but have a nice day anyway.

OF COURSE IT WILL!!! Bush is proud to be our "war president"! Unfortunately, I'm afraid that he'll do practically ANYTHING to keep us in that "WAR" mode.

14. what an obnoxious photo of Herr Bush
the smirk in full force, the true essence of the man on display, a smirk made even more grotesque and noxious by the image of the crying girl juxtaposed next to it.

18. "Crusade"? Dumbasses, one and all!!!
One one hand, they talk about winning hearts and minds in Iraq and among Muslims...

Then, some jackass uses the word "crusade" to describe our actions.

Jesus, no wonder they hate us. Read a fucking history book, assclown.
