We need to be clear: the public option is not for people who already have insurance. If the problem is that employers will start to dump policies, then fix THAT problem.

If the problem is that insurance companies won't be able to compete, then the insurance companies need to FIX THAT PROBLEM - lower their premiums and become competitive.

This is the core problem with conservatives and republicans: if there is any problem they can identify, the cure is to do nothing at all, instead of addressing the problem.
