The really really funny thing is that part of what suggests the tampering is -- get this -- LINES OF TEXT DON'T LINE UP!! ;) Unfortunately, there's no 'th' in this upcoming article, as far as I know.

Right now I'm trying to study more of what the tampering would actually mean. It's pretty clear that changes were made -- probably not by the White House themselves, but back in Texas by someone in the AF who was looking out for Bush. What they suggest is more elusive. At this point, I believe it has something to do with the the fact he was placed on Inactive Status (which usually means a forced discharge) in early 1973 and then switched into a position for which he wasn't qualified (executive support officer).
