Iraqi insurgents want to influence election; Armitage
Edited on Sat Sep-18-04 09:09 PM by blondeatlast
Props to brand new DUer Permanent Revolution for pointing this out.

This is not a joke!

From Reuters/Yahoo:

(snip)
WARSAW (Reuters) - U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage accused Iraqi insurgents on Friday of engaging in a cynical bid to undermine President Bush ahead of the U.S. presidential election in November.
"They're trying to influence the election against Mr. Bush," he said during a tour of eastern and central Europe.

"It's quite obvious that they would like to raise the cost to President Bush. I think this is their cynical effort to do that and to somehow influence our elections, and they will fail," Armitage told Reuters.

Violence has surged in Iraq, prompting U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan to say that planned Iraqi elections will become impossible if the bloodshed goes on.

1. Lies, cover-ups, secret plans, more lies and of course the term...
...insurgents as though these are Iranians of Afghanistans or Saudi Al Queida. Bushit, these are Iraqi resistance fighters trying to hold onto there homes and they want U.S troops out of Iraq.

2. this is simply a Bush Campaign strategy
...namely, keep the base energized & try to sway some undecideds. "The Terrrrrersts want Bush to lose, let's show 'em."

It can't be anything else, unless Armitage has some print evidence from Insurgents' Weekly or something. I don't believe he can read minds, I can't believe he has insurgent pen pals... How could he really know what's on their mind? He (or someone in the Bush campaign) is making this shit up.

7. Cheney Logic
Edited on Sat Sep-18-04 10:15 PM by gordianot
This is outrageous, dishonest, and needs to be answered swiftly by Kerry.

FOLLOW WHAT THEY ARE SAYING:
American's are killed in Iraq because there is an American election. American's are killed to influence the American Election against Bush. This is really twisted sounds to me like it is "Cheney Logic".

Vote for Kerry and America will be attacked. Now the "American election is killing our soldiers" a total outrage. I want know which "they" actually are doing this. There are a lot of groups in Iraq

I hope the Kerry campaign answers this one quickly. Richard Armitage and the B*sh regime needs to be taken to task.
