This is what we're up against...

Kerry has Iraq surrounded, and he's lost his credibility
Charles Krauthammer argues that the Democrat has flip-flopped so often that there's really nothing left to say about the Iraq war.

If the election were held today, John Kerry would lose by between 58 and 100 electoral votes. The reason is simple: the central vulnerability of this president -- the central issue of this campaign -- is the Iraq War. And Kerry has nothing left to say.
*****
How can Kerry coherently, once and for all, define his stand on Iraq? Is it doable at this late date?

1. Kerry is doing what he HAS to
Which is linking Iraq with our problems at home.

BUT it IS getting late in the day. He has to hit back with all he's(and we've) got NOW. Otherwise it will be too late.

2. Who cares what Krauthammer thinks
He's a right-wing looney.

Doubts? Here is a list of his columns

3. Krauthammer and his opinions are nothing more than
right wing trash. Don't even bother trying to peddle his tripe on this board, it won't work.

Have a nice visit.

7. Sorry to offend, Smirky, but
you are wrong. I'm one of the millions who cannot stand * . Unfortunately, I live in Houston and we only have one newspaper in this town. This article was in it, so everyone who reads a Sunday paper will have read this. It obviously caught my attention and breaks my heart to read this not so subtle editorial, but I'm not trying to peddle anything. I'm trying to understand what Kerry can do to reinforce or clarify his position on Iraq. That is THE issue.

8. There is NOTHING...
Kerry can say to 'clarify' his position enough to make a difference with this 'journalist.' NOTHING. PERIOD.

10. Okay, sorry to jump to conclusions, but when I hear
Krauthammer I kind of have a knee jerk reaction. What is sad is that so many people in this country are living in places like Houston where they only do get a one sided view of things, thanks to the corporate media.

We have about a month and 1/2 left. It's going to be interesting. :)

12. What you must do is write an LTTE
Local media is our responsibility.

The flaw in the column mentioned it that the arrogantly inept incompetence that led to the debacle that is Iraq is Bush's problem, not Kerry's.

4. He has somewhat straitjacketed himself on the Iraq issue...but
He can put the flip-flop label on Bush, who is the master flip-flipper, and then he can state his honest position on Iraq without fear of being stuck with the flip-flopper label himself. It's a tight spot, for sure.

6. I want REAL polling results
that might shed light on some of the issues raised in this article. It seems that much of the public realize that the whole Iraq debacle smells to high heaven. Was Iraq an imminent threat? Hell no! Is it a major distraction from the "war on terror?" Hell yes! The mess in Iraq needs to be laid at the feet of its perpetrators: George W. Bush and the neo-con cabal who planned this bull shit years ago.
John Kerry is pointing this out. Any articles like this one are begging a response from those of us who know that Kerry is the clear choice in this race. Please write a letter to the editor to counter this...hammer on Bush. There is plenty of ammunition.

9. even Bill Maher has said Kerry is no different than Bush on Iraq
And that's a big problem if Maher is saying it. He was a big Kerry supporter not long ago

15. So...according to Krauthammer's logic,
because Bush has made such a mess of it, everyone should vote for Bush to keep it around his neck.

Think not!

Even those who believe Kerry doesn't have an answer (which is not the case), a fully aware that Bush has no answer. No answer, no plan, no statesmanship, and no international credibility. And that's just on the foreign policy side. The domestic accomplishments are non-existent...and they know that too!

So why do they want to give this incredibly inept man and his hand-picked incompetent administration another four year contract? It's beyond me.
