Good that ABC and WGN mention Joe Wilson and Kanye West together with
the question of "why so much crude behavior". They also used Serena Williams as an example.

2. It started with the insane townhallers screaming down their Representatives and deciding all normal

rules of civility and decorum no longer apply.

I keep tying it back to the Townhallers first then Wilson, then Serena & West.

5. It started before then.
It started with Palin during the 2008 election.

Remember the shouts of terrorist at McCain-Palin rallies?

3. That's our high-brow media!
Even when the spin favors us, they're infuriating.

4. Serena Williams behaviour is quite normal in that line of work.
I used to watch Wimbledon religiously for over 10 years and she wasn't the first to act that way and most definitely won't be the last. So I wouldn't even count her.

As for Kanye---why is anyone surprised?! That's his normal behaviour. Doesn't the kid even suffer from ADD. He's always gonna say or act outrageous and I'm not surprised---nor do I care.

As for Wilson---he' a jackass who should know better.

7. I don't think they should be put in the same league.
What both of them did was inappropriate, and the similarities end there. What Wilson did was dishonest. Kanye's known for his spontaneous outbursts, but I find his raw honesty kind of refreshing. Everything in the media is so measured, that when there are those few authentic moments (even with the help of a bottle of "truth serum") that in Kanye's case it seems the reaction to the behavior is more contrived than the behavior itself.

As for Serena - well, that was a bullshit call by the judge. I'd have gone off on her, too.
