Republicans stealing Kerry-Edwards signs in my county
Over 50 of 100 signs stolen so far. But the Dem putting them out keeps replacing them and is declaring to encase them in concrete if he has to!

Shows the desperation of these Repugs if they've resorted to stealing Kerry signs in a rural North Carolina county that is heavily conservative.

1. Cut an habenero pepper in half
And cover the sign in habenero juice. It might not stop THAT sign from being stolen, but rest assured when the idiot does something like go to the bathroom or take out his contacts, he'll never steal a sign again.

2. How much (more) Fascism are we supposed to endure?
Arming the Left: Is the time now? --by Charles Southwell "As long as we pose no REAL threat to the powers-that-be, to what is shaping up into a dictatorship, we will continue to be ignored. Right now, we are ignored because we present no organized power to fight this onslaught of anti-democratic, totalitarian government that we are up against... "

4. At least you guys have signs to have stolen
(and replace!) Nothing here. This could be a swing district, if any effort was expended.

5. I agree and we need to do everything to ensure it isn't. I'm trying to get
signs at my union but none so far. My Dem HQ is somewhere I don't want to go on a good day. I will have to travel far to find them but I will. I think writing to Kerry HQ in mass might help. And lets get rid of this ass in the Gov. seat. No min. wage and rock on wally world :wtf: is up with our state. I hate that he drives a hummer while we are dependant on oil.

11. Effort? How about MONEY?
Those signs have to be bought by the local DEC. A lot of people don't donate to their local DEC. THey donate to the DNC, which is the National level. Those funds are not given to the local level.

It is only right before an elections that people take intrests and want to know where the democrats are at. Where is the Headquarters, signs, phone banks, mail outs, etc... And get pissed that things are not done "right."

News flash, people have been working since the last election and TRYING to get people to also get involved. Generaly, no such luck. This includes fundraising for the headquarters during a campaign and all the other stuff. Most DEC's can't even aford to do a mail out asking YOU to donate. Such mailing costs are high, and very little donations returned.

For a Presidentual Elections, the signs must be bought on top of everything else needed. Those have to be ordered early.. again.. with what money? Those signs are anywhere from $2 to $4 a piece. Not freebies, for sure.

AFter this election, keep all this in mind. Fundraising should never stop. And your local group NEEDS HELP full time. It's ALL vollunteer work. So if your complaining, your complaining about someone who has been TRYING for 4 years to get people to help them.. but expect them to do it all by themselfs.

6. I have an idea!
Turn your yard into a minefield. Of course you'll have to tell the mailman to stick to the sidewalks. And it wouldn't be too cool if the neighbors dog came over, lifted his leg and 'BOOM!' Better yet, booby trap the signs themselves. One moment the culprit is laughing at how clever he is, next thing he knows, he's 200 feet in the air. Or, if you prefer a more natural method of sign protection, invest in skunks, badgers, killer bees or sharks (which is labor intensive since you'd have to dig a 25 foot deep moat around the sign). Slipping back into my beer induced stupor...

7. My husband and I worked on our Kerry sign before putting it in
the yard because they have been stealing the Kerry signs in Clay County, Mo.

I coated the white outer part with lard - and sprinkled cayenne pepper on it. I checked it after about 10 days and, trust me, their hands will have some mighty greasy hot stuff and if it gets in their eyes it won't be pleasant.

After putting our Kerry/Edwards sign up - a few days later the neighbor puts up his Bush sign...now the block has 3 houses Kerry and 2 Bush....Only the one neighbor with the Bush sign has it right up against his house like he's ashamed of it or afraid someone will steal his sign.... I wouldn't touch his moldy sign.

8. Same here. Hundreds of 'em!
And when the folks come in for replacements they are mad. So mad that they even give us MORE $ and tell us thanks for working so hard to beat Bush. Every once in a while we send an updated copy of list to the Police and the local paper.

While this sickening brown-shirt behavior is discouraging, I have to say those idiots are really helpful to the cash flow. We're breaking all kinds of records.

:toast:
