Stop Letting Yourself be "PLAYED"
Thats what is happening. We all agree that the media has actively worked against us. The current polling that is "played" over and over is skewed against us.

The truth is, all this Kerry bashing on TV and in the newspapers is designed to make us give up. To effectively disenfranchise us as a voting group.

Regardless of how the CBS document question is resolved, it has accomplished one major thing. It has put the smear boat advertisements in a new light. Bushco has spent the last 2 weeks making the point that what happend 30 years ago is not an issue. The American people are indicating they are tired of the negativity. I believe that any future smear boat ads will have lost their effect.

I also believe we will start to see a change in the media coverage. Kerry IS getting his message out. Edwards is campaigning non stop. Local coverage of the events is going to make a big difference.

Its way far from over, my friends. I still believe Kerry has this. So stop getting discouraged. Stop feeding the trolls on this board. Its really sick, isn't it? To watch them post their slimey little jabs.

Fear is an ugly thing. We have nothing to fear!

1. Answer every MEMO post with Robert Novak, revealed the name of an
undercover CIA agent with life threatening consequences. Where is the rage at this traitorous action?

2. I would just add ....
That the media isn't so much trying to make us 'give up' as it is trying subtly to sway undecided's .... Americans are herd-thinkers and if they see polls that indicate that Shrubby is winning, they will 'get behind the winner' cause 'nobody likes to back a losing horse'.

Somehow activists and volunteers have to get the message across that Kerry isn't losing (or a loser) and spread the issues messages as opposed to the 'vote like you think everyone else is going to' message.

3. You make a very good point.
For those who are not involved politically, going with the perceived flow beats actually taking time to learn the issues and ask questions.

I still expect a media change in the near future. Even on cable.

Why do you expect a media change? Just curious.

4. I just heard John Edwards referred to as
in the federal witness protection program on Wolfie's show. They don't cover him and then make jokes about his disappearing act.

deliver for him. Ignore the feckless, corrupt and lazy media--who when they are not openly in the tank for Bush--are focused exclusively on the "horserace" aspect.

The ridiculous Republican weighting in the various media polls has been exposed, and we must let the media whores know we are well aware of this fact.

Would also like to see Skinner remove the "chicken little, sky is falling" posts--Kerry bashing in the guise of concern or something equally bogus, removed to a different board--perhaps titled..."Democratic Circular Firing Squad" postings.

6. I agree with you.
I wish we could find a way to "de-freep" DU. I actually have a post it note on my computer saying "DONT FEED THE TROLLS". Comes in handy when I see something that makes me want to scream. I just love seeing those bullshit posts sink, sink, sink.

11. Hit the "Alert" button
at the bottom left of each post there is a button that says "Alert." Hit it when you see a post that makes you suspicious. Hit it everytime you see a post that looks fishy.

After you hit "alert" a text box will open. Be sure to hit "send." It's not necessary to write a message to the mods - just sending an alert will get their attention.

Don't call the post or the poster out on the board. It's against the rules to accuse somebody of being a troll or a freeper. Just hit "alert" and let the mods take care of it.

We have a team of very dedicated volunteer mods. They've been tombstoning trolls right and left these days. They can't find the trolls unless we point them out.

Tombstone a troll today. Hit "alert."

13. I totally agree
I also believe that Kerry will take this election because Bushco (thats a very good term. Hope it's OK if I borrow it) has done a rather adroit job of so manipulating these polls and by so doing attempting to frustrate and discourage democrats from even voting.
That's all they have folks. Manipulation and mind games. It was stated repeatedly that Bush was going to use the convention to lay out his plans for his next terms. ( sorry got a surge of nausea there) but all they did was conduct a hate-fest against Kerry.
The point is Bush has nothing to run on other than his failures. We are seeing day in and day out the actions of very desperate people.
Don't be suckered in by Rove. Thats what he wants.
Just be front and center when the polls open and don't let any Bush storm trooper try to intimidate you.
We can through John Kerry wrestle our country out of the evil hands of Bush and his evil empire.
I must believe this.
