My car was "Keyed For Kerry"
Guess they didn't like our Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker.

Brownshirts drove by, hopped out of their SUV and keyed the entire drivers side of my car. We got a partial plate (Bush/Satan bumpersticker firmly attached), for all the good that will do (according to local law enforcement).

High deductible, so the gouges will remain.

What we need now is another bumper sticker to affix to the other side of our bumper reading something like "My Car Was Keyed For Kerry". Anyone up to the task?

24. I Dunno If This Might Backfire...
But how about getting a big Band-Aid bumper Sticker with a Purple Heart on it to cover the key scratches, with the logo, This Car Keyed For Kerry!!

Aftr all, this is a fucking war, and your poor car is a casualty of war...and it would serve as a reminder of what the Bush-assholes think of Vets who honorably fought!!

6. I'm so sorry for you, but

it's typical freeper behavior. I'm finally working up the nerve to affix a Kerry/Edwards sticker to my car. Haven't had anything on my car since working on clinic defense in Los Angeles during the nineties. Those "Lambs of God" folks were very handy with keys and made a mess of any and all cars with Keep Abortion Free and Legal signs. One morning the Lambs, neo-Nazis and Aryan Nation were gang keying in the parking lot.

And they have the gall to talk about values.

68. Go for the sticker!
We have one on each car and have a yellow ribbon for the troops right next to it.

My old 93 Honda has ALL kinds of "Repeal the Patriot Act" and "Nothing Accomplished - Defeat Bush in 04" and "It's about EVERYTHING, Stupid - Vote Democratic" stickers.

My wife wants me to switch gears for the final 6 weeks and display just the Kerry/Edwards sticker and the yellow ribbon.

Gotta speak up NOW or we're gonna kick ourselves Nov 3, almost as hard as we're gonna get kicked by the Repukes, if W does it again.

56. His parents are liable, you betcha. Here's how...
Police report -- obtain a copy of it
Write up your own narrative of the events
Your own insurance company -- notify your agent
The kid's parents' insurance info -- give it to your insurance agent
Repair shop estimates -- get an estimate in writing from a couple of good body shops
Stay in touch with your insurance agent to ask what to do next. Your agent is going to want the *other* insurance company to pay, and if the parents aren't insured for this kind of thing, tough, you and your agent still want them to pay, because your insurance company would rather not pay and you aren't made of money.

In other words, treat it like a fender bender that wasn't your fault: you still take the initiative because you want your car fixed.

If the estimate is small enough (under $3,000?) and the other parties are reluctant to cough up, you have the option of pursuing it through Small Claims Court, which is simple and requires no lawyers.

The side of my car got scraped and the door dented while I was waiting at a red light: someone tried to squeeze past me to turn right and she popped the clutch on her car and it lurched into me. I felt sorry for her because I'd made that turn at the same intersection many times myself and it was just her bad luck.

I was surprised at how expensive it was to have fixed -- about $1800. I don't think she had a very good insurance company, but I still needed it fixed -- my Camry wagon is now going on 15 years old and it is in great shape; those deep scratches (like getting keyed) would have quickly rusted through. You don't want that.

Best of luck all the way around -- this political season is getting nastier all the time, and all at the instigation of the wingnuts now in control of the Republican party.

25. This was happening all over Pensacola ,Florida
It was one of the worse areas in the state of FLorida for torn down Kerry/Edwards signs and keyed cars.

Perhaps the destruction Pensacola, and in other conservative areas of Florida are some higher power trying to tell Florida it didnt like what happened in 2000, and perhaps a little warning to change course.

If I was really of a religious nature, I would be pushing that thought right now.

can be ID'd on multiple websites for a few bucks. Do a Google.

I recommend a tire iron on each piece of glass and to pry the gas cap cover open as well as a pound of sugar for the gas tank.

Sugar doesn't harm an engine.
It sinks like other debris in the gas. To hurt the engine you'd need to put something that dissolves in gas.

That said, the police and a small claims court action would be much more effective, and wouldn't subject her to criminal sanctions. The assholes likely wouldn't show in court, being cowards and all, so she'd get a default judgment.

Any wonder at all how Hitler got going?

35. I had an experience today on the highway that was as expected from a
shrub idiot.
Driving down the freeway 65-70 in the right lane. As I was approaching a slower moving vehicle, this car came up along side me and sat there. As I slowed down for the car in front of me (thinking the car on the left would move on down the road), this guy slowed down and sat there in the left lane along side.
My exit was coming up in about 2 miles and I was stuck behind the slow traffic for that time as traffic behind this guy built up.
As I exited, I noticed a b/c sticker on the back of his Lexus.
I do have a Kerry sticker in the back window.
I could have guessed it would be a shrub idiot.
I saw way too many b/c stickers today, Akron/Canton, Ohio area.
I would have thought that area was pretty hard hit by the outsourcing.
They were all on expensive cars and SUV's

I am so sorry that some repug idiot keyed your car. You should call your local radio station or talk station and tell them how disgusting the bush supporters are. The last time you looked, it was still a free country and you should be able to support the candidate of your choice without fear. I have had no problem here in Maine with my Kerry/Edwards sticker. My daughter lives in Dallas and was afraid to put her sticker on her car for fear of damage, but she put it on today. She said she is so sick of seeing all the bush/cheney stickers on all the cars down there. She knows her vote won't count, but she is actively campaigning for Kerry.

This, of course, is in a freeper region of Houston (Galleria/Uptown). When I'm at home (the Heights) I feel very safe, just as I do when I'm with my friends (3rd ward/Museum district/Montross areas), or at school (UofH).

That's what Bush-Cheney supporters are, and so are Bush and Cheney.

Or perhaps: "Bush-Cheney vandals: Doing to the world what they did to my car."

71. Very good Idea
Enlist the 'good, law abiding citizens' publicly - perfect contrast to the amoral Repuke with a key. Rise above the slime - EVOLVE!

64. They're getting bold.
They did that right in front of you?!!! I would have tailed their asses until I had a plate #. I hope you did? In fact, I would have tailed them until they stopped and got out of their car and they would have had a fist in the mouth and a foot in the crotch. :grr: The police would have been on their way.

65. Dear Melinda:
I'm very sorry to hear about this. Those Nazi PIGS are beneath contempt. They are worthless sacks of decaying roadkill entrails.

I like your idea of a "My Car Was Keyed For Kerry"... but a more direct accusation is in order: "Nazi Bush Supporters Keyed My Car!"

69. A burly 20 something approached my 75 year old mother
in a parking lot recently and said, of her bumper sticker, "how's it feel to be voting for a loser." Not intimidated, she shot back, "Well if Bush wins we are all losers."

These folks are scum.
