1. How is that good news...
...for Kerry? Wouldn't it be better for Kerry if they voted for him?!?

10. obviously it would be most ideal if they voted Kerry
But if they voted Bush in 2000 and are naturally inclined to vote GOP, and ESPECIALLY if they're in a potential swing state, I'll gladly settle for them just not voting for Bush again.

11. Because when Bush voter votes for Nader, Perot, or his son
it takes votes from Bush.

2. Tell 'em to vote for Michael Badnarik
He's the Libertarian candidate.

I realize these guys are not voting for Kerry, no matter what. But I've heard of a few Bush protest votes going Libertarian this year.

Badnarik getting more votes than Nader this year would make the Pubbies' blood boil. I'm steering the Repubs I know (who refuse to vote for Kerry) toward Badnarik. He could be to this election what Nader was in 2000.

4. Exactly!
There are many who won't vote Dem because they've been lifelong Republicans. But they will vote Libertarian, and I am encouraging them to do so.

12. They could vote for Nader
-after all the republicans done for Nader to get him on the ballot, it would be sweet if republicans actually voted for Nader. Karma and so on.

14. I'm not one for inflating Nader's ego any more than it already is
Besides, if Nader gets some votes, it will be spun as a negative for the Dems by the media.

I have little use for Nader's ego stroking. I wouldn't mind throwing a few bones Badnarik's way, though, since a strong Libertarian Party would keep Ed Gillespie awake nights. And we know he already loves Nader.

Besides, Badnarik's not a bad guy. And no, I'm not changing my vote from Kerry. I'm just saying.

15. That's good thinking.
I know a lot of Repub just can't bring themselves to vote for Kerry, but can come no closer to voting NeoCon. I'll be glad to offer them that as an alternative.

6. My neighbor boy, son of freepers
is voting for Kerry, he told me yesterday when i was mowing my lawn. this is his first election he can vote in and he has a Bush sticker on the cap of his p/u truck. He comes over to me and starts asking me about my ipod and itunes and so on and then he starts changing the subject to politics. So bing the cynic that i am i suspect his motives. "What with the W sticker on the cap then?"..."my parents will kill me if they found out about me wanting to vote for Kerry and you know my Dad put that sticker on there." Now that part is true, i did see his Dad put the W stickers on this boys truck and the wife's mini-van and on his own giant suv and on Granpa's subaru wagon. He told me he wanted me to know because he thought(correctly) that i wasn't very fond of his family even though i'm always nice to his little sisters and bro. I do give these neighbor kids help on some of their girl scout projects from time to time and i guess the oldest has figured that liberals really aren't evil. "You won't tell my Mom will you?" "Do i even talk to your Mom?" , he just chortled a little and went inside.

7. Bittersweet
That's a bittersweet moment. The repressive atmosphere that young man lives in has backfired badly. In a not dissimilar vein, my 10 year old daughter came home on day last week, asking me if John Kerry was a Christian.

I sat her down and asked why. One of her classmates had told her that John Kerry is not a Christian because he doesn't go to church (go figure!). The boy who told her that attends one of the freeptard Xtian (I REFUSE TO CALL 'EM CHRISTIAN!) churches, that preach that Catholics and Mormons are evil (guess what they say about Jews and Muslims).

I explained that Mr. Kerry was a Catholic, like two of our neighbors whom she really likes. I asked her if she thought they were Christian, and she said yes. I then explained how certain people discrimate against others of different beliefs, and she was disgusted at that idea. I gave her a few pointers to discuss about so-called Bush's Xtianity, and she did <grin>. Caused a bit of ruckus with the boy's parents at parent's night at the local elementary.

I love arguing with ReTHUGs. Bit pathetic, really. Plus I have a magna cum laude degree in philosophy/religious studies, and can flay your typical rural Southern self-anointed preacher alive in about 2 minutes <evil grin>. Some of the locals regard me as the Devil.

8. My neighbor's are very "Religious"
Piety Poster family. I feel for this kid, he's pretty quiet, listens to a lot of Christian rock? goes to community college and generally keeps his head low. His Dad is somewhat overbearing(shocking i know) and more than a little out of touch with reality. this kid is trying to find his own voice i think and i was actually glad he came to me to spill it, color me surprised.

Thanks.

13. I wish I lived in a safe blue state
I'd vote for Nader so I could call in to Rush Limbaugh to tell him I voted for Nader because I knew it was a vote for Kerry.
