NBC News tonight working overtime to defeat Kerry
Edited on Sat Sep-18-04 08:34 PM by Miss_Bevey
Giving the impression that he is behind Bush, and has lost footing on the security issue, even losing among women. Of course, they quoted the most skewed poll, showing eight points behind.

Why do I keep punishing myself? The media ain't gonna change.

So stupid of me to think it.

1. for the most part Video media is WORTHLESS
All they see are consumers. They have no respect for their viewers.
They're at their sponsors beck and call.

2. No, you're not stupid....you're right.
I agree with the DUer who confines himself/herself to watching the Daily Show (and I might add, Maher), and listening to Air America (or Liberal Talk on Sirius - or Amy Goodman).

I have experienced much less stress ignoring Fox News, the NBCs, and CNN. They just seem to be shills for the RNC.

3. NBC is owned by GE, one of the charter members of the....
...military/petrol/industrial complex. GE, they bring good things to nuclear weapons.

4. GE is making Big $$$ from the War-NBC is their media outlet
Don't be surprised- they have a lot at stake. Bush's policy of permanent war is great for B2 bomber business.

19. Brilliant quote there jdolsen. Add some to it and -
War is a great business. Invest your son or daughter today.
(No guarantee of a 'return' on your investment.)
Brought to you by George W. Bush.

Oh I wish I had the funds to put that up on billboards across the country. Or a nice 30 second commercial on all the hit shows.

5. kill your TV
I write email after email to various media sources because they continuously suggest Kerry's campaign is "in trouble", "can he come from behind" etc. Everyone with any sense knows the polls can't be accurate, an accurate poll is just not possible. Why don't they drop it? Grrrr.

8. Damn straight...
I'm with you, Whistle!

The knife cuts both way, too.

The more the right-wing media denonces Democrats, the more we must turn out to vote.

Once in power, Democrats must ram-through equal time rules and media conglomerate break-up legislation!

10. Someone showed a graphic earlier today and NBC was worst!
They are by far the most biased against Kerry--even worse than Faux (if I recall correctly). They really stood out for their negative bias.

I watched tonight and you are right. I was screaming at the screen through their whole slanted piece.

"Kerry sees election slipping away" was one of the comments. Geez!

Have you noticed that the network media is starting to almost complain about the INTERNET and bloggers.

I hear several themes on Video media: If it is on the INTERNET it is rumor. Bloggers are slanting the news. The INTERNET breeds conspiracy theories. The so called Rather-gate was caught by astute bloggers.
Blah blah blah...........

It appears to me they are intimidated by the INTERNET and have not yet figured how they fit in.

17. Pay attention to their advertisers and keep and list and write to them
and tell them you will never patronize them because they are anti-American to support a fixed media. You can only defeat this by not buying their products. In the same way Bush will be defeated when the public votes their pocketbooks on November 2nd. It's all about money!
