"If Kerry had his way, Saddam would still be in power"
Of all the obnoxious Bush talking points, you really have to put this one in a league of its own.

If Kerry had his way:
(1) We would have caught OBL by now.
(2) 1000+ soldiers would be alive today.
(3) We would still have the world's support in our efforts against terrorism.

And on and on and on....

But NO, all we care about is some meaningless dictator who: (a) was no longer a threat to anyone; (b) who could easily have been contained w/o war; and (c) who WE created.

Vent complete.

1. Very well said
Saddam was an evil man, but was contained and maintained stability in the region...something that is gone now.

2. Sadly, Saddam stands pretty tall compared to this castastrophe
The George "w" Bush regime has created the greatest terrorist training camp in the history of mankind while leaving Al Queada to grow and morph.

Sadly, Saddam stands pretty tall compared to this castastrophe, no wonder we helped install him as dictator just as we did the Shah of Iran.

3. Maybe he would be
but would it really matter? I don't think Kerry would have gone after him--but so what? Was there ANY good reason at all to go and get him?

Wrong war, wrong time WRONG.

4. if Kerry had his way your dad (Bush I) would never have funded Saddam
and allowed him to kill his own people with chemical weapons or invade kuwait.

the same goes for osama. if kerry had his way his dad along with the rest of the criminal republicans in power in those times would never have been able to fund the terrorists.

5. This is true, wasn't Saddam basically on par with Quadafi?
Sanctions, threats, basically all the same shit. Quadafi is still around, and it's a forgive and forget deal now.

6. Things would be much better if Saddam were still in power
Isn't it becoming obvious even to the delusional that deposing Saddam has caused more death, destruction, maiming and lost treasure than containing him? Not to mention the de-stabilization of the region, and our clusterfuck of an international reputation as war criminals?

I mean, wtf.
