how those from the OUTSIDE see us.
Do you agree?
We are such a self-absorbed nation, we seldom see what Norwegians, Pols, French, Germans, Russians, Brits, Aussies, and so many others see when they look at Barack Obama, and what he has done in 9 short months after 8 dark years of G W Bush.
In other words, as the 30th thread today to look at what Obama just got awarded, let's try to see this as wise people in other nations see this.
What does it feel like to be a person in Kenya, or Germany, or France, or Australia, or South Korea, or even Palestine.
What has Obama started for THEM, not for US???? What has inspired and emboldened the leaders of the world, Presidents and Prime Ministers, and even government functionaries at all levels to see that they can get behind someone with the message Obama brings?
THESE are the reasons Obama was awarded this Prize, THIS is what is going on in dozens of leading nations of the world, in Russia the President and Prime Minister are just as anxious to line up behind Obama's leadership as is the Prime Minister of Canada or the UK!!!
THIS is the difference! THIS is what he symbolizes! THIS is how he has ALREADY changed the world.
Comments? Viewpoints from Canada, the UK, Germany, France? I have not visited those lands in the last 9 months, and am anxious to see and hear what people are thinking there. (I DO watch BBC Cable news on my TV, better than US cable news most of the time, less noise, no commercicals, more accuracy, but what is being said in OTHER nations?)
Comments from Americans abroad? Comments from foreign nationals who are visiting or studying here? I look forward to your thoughts!
