Post-Dispatch Slams Blunt for 'Election Year Moves'
Repukes Constantly Cheat & Attempt To Circumvent Elections. Dam.

Could Matt Blunt turn Missouri into the next Florida?

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch hammers Matt Blunt over “election-year moves” he has taken to benefit Republicans in the November election. In an editorial for its Sunday edition, the Post-Dispatch says that Blunt “is putting together a strong candidacy for this year’s Katherine Harris prize for most Partisan Election Official in America.”

The Post-Dispatch points to a number of troubling actions taken by Blunt in comparing him with Florida’s now infamous Secretary of State. Most notably are Blunt’s letters to county clerks “throughout the state to provide Republican campaign operatives with the names of citizens requesting absentee ballots.” The newspaper confirms that subsequent contact by the GOP to encourage these voters to support Republican candidates “may violate state law.”

The Post-Dispatch also points to his “brazen plan” to violate the right to privacy of service members by having them cast ballots by email, a plan that also “invites fraud through computer hacking and partisan manipulation.”

Most significantly, the newspaper points out that in all of Blunt’s actions, “a common theme has been clear: All of Mr. Blunt’s election-year moves would help Republicans, including him.”

1. He's a creep
My former neighbor back in MO was good freinds with him. Both are blue-bloods, both conservative as hell because they aren't rich enough yet. Blunt's father is a reactionary cretin. The only thing I can think nice to say about Blunt is that he actually did his stint in the Nat'l Gaurd...Afghanistan, I think? My father thinks Claire McCaskill could win the governorship, but she is no match for this power-hungry wingnut.

2. At least...
Holden got that awful anti-gay amendment off the November ballot. It would have been carnage for all Democrats if it had stayed on. I still can't believe that it passed with 71%.

3. I would assume the Dems would then be entitled to 'lists' of those
requesting absentee ballots and if not they could take it immediately to court. Are they trying to obtain these same lists???
