What will the media say if Kerry were to win big but the polls said
Bush wins easily? How will they spin it? What if there's a Democratic tidal wave and the Republicans lose their asses in this election? What will the media say? What will those poor pollsters at Gallup do when their 13 point lead for der Fuherer turns out to be wrong in a big way? More importantly, how will the right wingers react to losing power?

2. They Have A Chance To Redeem Themselves In The Final Polls
Edited on Sat Sep-18-04 12:37 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
For istance Gallup's final 00 poll had it 48%-46% in favor of Bush within the margin of error....

The last time the polls were really wrong was 48....

3. What will be left of the media if that happens is more like what....
...should be asked. Here we have a son-of-a-bitch like Rupert Murdock who is an Australian for Christs sakes, having tremendous influence over what the American public hears, sees in the news, ideas, heavy partisan influence. This media mogul needs to be reigned in and held accountable for his new brand of "yellow journalism". It is what is kept out of the news that hurts us more than what is reported or distorted and is claimed as fact. I say, let the media heads roll if Kerry/Edwards win by a landslide or even by a low margin They have to win though because if Bush wins, then Cheney's claim that terrorists will attack is absolutely true. It will be the neo-con terrorists and their right-wing fanatics who will destroy America.

4. "It's not our fault"

There will be some momentary soul searching then the media will immediately start reporting on how awful Kerry is doing as prez. Just like they knew all along.

Kerry should deny access to every reporter who gives him bad press. It's what Bush did and its the only way to stay in power.

8. They will find a way to spin it.
They will make it look like the American voters are dumb shits for not electing * by a landslide.

"Where is the outrage?" they will ask.

It will be our fault for voting.

And, the hunting of the President will begin all over again, even before Kerry takes office.

10. They will say "voter turnout was higher than expected"
or "the Democrats were motivated to get out and vote"

or "pollsters now have to start considering using cell phone numbers in their polling process"

Believe me, they won't say "We had our heads up our asses!" (Even though it is true.)

11. GOP reaction to losing power
Well first you will never see more whining and gnashing of teeth. Something that conservative are always accusing democrats or "Libs" of doing all the time.
Secondly it's easy for me to picture Bush with his mental problems having to be physically removed from the white House since he will not go on his own accord. I further imagine him as he is lead out of the white house repeating over to himself "But there were WMD."

12. They're not stupid....
they always have it tighten up a week or so from the election. And when they say it's gonna be a deadheat, people should wonder why we wasted all the time with these polls at this time...

13. you nailed it....
The sad thing is that polls can shape the perception of the race and that can be a self fulfilling prophecy....

If they continually portray a candidate a "loser" in the polls he might never be able to win.....

15. hey, in oklahoma gov henry was expected to get his ass handed to
him by the repug largent. and to be honest I didn't see how he was going to even make it close. the guy just ran a close campaign and did not make any mistakes. I really belief kerry and a lot of the others can do the same thing. hell our dem even has a pretty good lead over the repug for our open (oklahoma)senate seat.

If we can get carson in, we might be able to steal the other one from that jerk imholf.

17. What if...
the polls are fictitious and are used to cover up massive electronic voting fraud? The Repukes could say "the polls reflected a Bush lead before the election, so where is the problem? You Dems are such whiners and sore losers. Get over it!"
What if the true numbers were to show a huge advantage for Kerry? It would be much harder to electronically steal the election.
Then again, maybe I am a bit too paranoid...
