what's so bad about poll numbers showing Bush leading?
The point people are missing:

low poll numbers for Kerry, IMHO, will galvanize Kerry people, or people who don't like Bush, to come out and vote!

I think a little fear is a good thing.

If we're afraid Kerry might lose, the voter turnout is gonna be HUGE!

when you have such polls it sometimes gets the troops down

This is an old trick to supress the vote and heck they even admited it yesterday on CNBC, it may supress the vote, read this as tehy hope it will supress it.

Now here is what YOU do.... don't play into the but, but, but we are down in the polls we are gonna loose, you make your won reality taht way

Yuo go out there and TALK to peoole, explain to them how the polls are being massaged and URGE them to go to the polls

This is ONE person at a time

(boy I can't spell today... worst than usual actually)

4. if all the polls show one person ahead by a huge number
voter turnout will be low, some people jump on the bandwagon and vote for whosever leading in the polls

5. It demoralizes people, and it makes it easier for the Repubs to steal it
Publish endless polls about states with lots of electronic voting (Ohio, Georgia, Florida) and it's not so suspicious when the reactionaries walk away with it. Remember: even with the Texas redistricting, the House is very close, and the Senate is razor-thin. A few elections stolen here and there can really darken the future.

People are herd animals, and if it's repeatedly chorused how it's over, many will give up. It may energize some, and it may cause some wingers to stay home, too, but the net effect will probably not be to our advantage.

10. I really feel like Kerry is gonna peak right on November 2
and be the next president of the US.

I think he's planned it that way and is right on schedule.

7. I'm with you
I think it's going to galvanize. Voter turnout in this election is already expected to be the biggest since the 60's and the reason is US.

8. strange motivation
THere are people who want to be on record as voting for the winner.

If you think about it, trying to vote for a winner (rather than the best guy), is like a basketball player deciding to miss shots if his team is likely to lose.

These people, who I consider to be fools, will decide who to vote for according to who leads in the polls.

9. people are afraid to support a loser
Obviously not everyone, many people are less vocal about their support for Kerry if they think they are losing. Plus, it makes the upcoming attempts at electoral fraud look less suspicious.

11. Don't entirely agree

Leading in the polls has the added benefit of more media coverage (as though Bush needed any unfair advantage) For the many people who don't perform anything more than sound bite political analysis, this is an advantage to Bushco who will flat out lie.

12. I hope the polls make Kerry turn his campaign
up a few notches.

Kerry is supposedly best, when his back is against the wall, & he is behind. Well, its wall time.
