GARRISON KEILLOR'S MAGNIFICENT ARGUMENTS

I sent this to EVERYONE in my addy book. I recommend you do the same AND then, ask everyone to send it on.

A friend of mine printed out 100 copies and snail mailed them to many people she knew.

I e-mailed MSNBC HARDBALL... Chris Matthews AND RECOMMENDED HE HAVE Garrison Keillor on as a guest ...

Here are the final two paragraphs of the excerpt you'll see if you go to the link above:

"This is a great country, and it wasn't made so by angry people. We have a sacred duty to bequeath it to our grandchildren in better shape than however we found it. We have a long way to go and we're not getting any younger.

"Dante said that the hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who in time of crisis remain neutral, so I have spoken my piece, and thank you, dear reader. It's a beautiful world, rain or shine, and there is more to life than winning."

You'll feel MUCH BETTER for having read this... AND SO WILL PEOPLE YOU SEND IT TO. It's very persuasive.

Garrison Keillor is the host and writer of A Prairie Home Companion, now in its 25th year on the air. This adapted excerpt is from Keillor's new book, Homegrown Democrat ((c) 2004) is reprinted by arrangement with Viking, a member of Penguin Group (USA) Inc.

1. link goes to someplace else
some website place.

Would love to read it; Garrison Keillor can reach people in the midwest and Bible belt like no one else.

If anyone wants more of a preview, you can read the first four chapters here:

It is well worth reading. I found it very inspiring.

6. BRILLIANT!
Not only is it a "must-read," it's a "must-save" to send to those people who haven't seemed to notice how the republican party has changed.

Believe it or not, there are people like that--even my own mother. This piece goes to her today.

I am also writing Garrison Keillor a letter of appreciation for his work on this piece. The writing is magnificent--among the best I've read!

Cher

p.s. This piece is from his new book. Just think--he'll probably be doing a book tour which may emphasize just this message!

Thank you so much for finding this, Cartooner!

10. Keillor is an amazing Minnesotan.
I'll add him to the list of fine Minnesota activists/leftists.

Paul Wellstone
Walter Mondale
Bob Dylan
Jessica Lange
Al Franken

They all make me very proud. :)
