Mercury News: Another Buckhead Outing Story
http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/local/9698611.htm

its the AP write-up...still nice to see the story getting more mainstream press coverge.

LOS ANGELES - An Internet writer considered the first to accuse CBS of using fake documents in its report on President Bush's National Guard service is an Atlanta lawyer with strong ties to Republican causes, a newspaper said Saturday.

Harry W. MacDougald, 46, is affiliated with two prominent conservative legal groups and helped draft a petition urging the Arkansas Supreme Court to disbar President Clinton for giving misleading testimony in the Paula Jones sexual harassment case, the Los Angeles Times said.

1. Do I get a tinfoil hat if I suggest the documents were planted
by the repug smear machine, knowing the forgeries would kill CBS and have a negative impact on the Kerry campaign? I mean these are the same people who absolutely crucified Bill Clinton from the day he became Governor of Ark. They should be called Dirty Tricks R Us. They had nothing to lose. If CBS didn't bite, then nothing lost. If they did (which they did) they were ready to discredit them.

2. That theory has been around since day one.
And I don't discount it one bit. Sure, we'll get labeled as tinfoil hatters but it seems to make as much sense as anything else.

All you have to do is study Rove's history:

* Planted a bug in his own candidate's office, and then blamed it on his opponent.

* "Bush preparation videos" arrived at the Gore campaign in advance of the debates.

* Told that writer of Fortunate Son (Hatfield?) about Bush's cocaine use, only to then deny it.

The memos fit his pattern of operation. He knows he can't win a race fair and square, and he knows his boy has monumental dirt in his closet. So you essentially admit the dirt (witness no one is denying the content of the memos), but do it in a way that will discredit the source and accuse the other side of cheating.

3. The most salient point in this...
To my mind, is the fact that he has connections to Brent Bozell. Period.

Furthermore, it has long been apparent to me that someone has been propping up, financially, FreePeeZLand. Could this be the first inkling that Bozell and his organisation are funneling money to RimJob?

Frankly, I wish I had the resources to look into all this. Too many coinkydinks. Way too many.
