DU PROJECT! Alert the media about the fake "Torn-Sign Toddler" story!
Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 01:13 PM by Skinner
Based on suggestions from DUers, I have compiled this list. Here's your list. Let's get some media coverage.

After you're done, post in this thread to let us know.

IF POSSIBLE, PUT THE ADDRESSES IN THE "BCC" SECTION OF YOUR EMAIL. If you don't know how, then you can put it in the "To" section.

feedback@ap.org, msilverman@ap.org, kcarroll@ap.org, sjohnson@ap.org, countdown@msnbc.com, hardball@msnbc.com, crossfire@cnn.com, insidepolitics@cnn.com, factorcorrections@airamericaradio.com, newsnight@cnn.com, aaron.brown@turner.com, jimross@herald-dispatch.com, ron.brownstein@latimes.com, peter.wallsten@latimes.com, whitehouse@washpost.com, viewpoints@chron.com, executive-editor@nytimes.com, themail@newyorker.com, Letters@newsweek.com, letters@slate.com, alexb@thehill.com, letters@time.com, investigations_desk@upi.com, kjurgensen@usatoday.com, news@wchstv.com,

FRAUD: Bush supporter fakes mistreatment of his own daughter to smear Kerry!

Talking points:

AP ran a picture of a crying 3-year-old girl who allegedly got her Bush/Cheny sign ripped up by Kerry Supporters. Link:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/040916/480/wvrs10309162250

The truth:

Her father, Phil Parlock, has pulled stunts like this three separate times, in 1996, 2000, and now 2004. Each time his stunt was covered in the media.

The alleged "Kerry Supporter" in the photo has a strong family resemblence, and may be Mr. Parlock's son.

Also, Phil Parlock may have faked a gunshot attack on his local Republican Party Headquarters a couple weeks ago.

in the Washington Post

Protester Watch, II

Bloggers of the pro-Bush persuasion, including Instapundit, have been furiously linking since last night to this photo, showing three-year-old Sophia Parlock crying while seated on the shoulders of her father, Phil Parlock, after having their Bush-Cheney sign torn up by Kerry-Edwards supporters in West Virginia.

But now, anti-Bush blogger Atrios, himself reproducing a post from Rising Hegemon, points out that Parlock has something of a history. "Amazingly, for the past three presidential elections he's managed to convince reporters that he's gotten attacked and gotten his signs stolen and destroyed. What are the odds?"

7. Faked photo of small child "mistreated" by "union member!
Yesterday, AP got a photo of a small child who had her Bush/Cheney sing ripped from her hands by a union member at a Kerry/Edwards event as evidenced by this link:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/040916/480/wvrs10309162250

Unfortunately, AP was apparently duped. The "union member" appears to be none other than the alleged "victim's" older brother and son of the man who staged the event. If you don't believe it, see for yourself here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x828458

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x829092

This would seem a simple prank, however, the same man who held his daughter in this faked event was also involved in a shooting event at a Republican headquarters as evidenced by SHOT FIRED trasncript here:

http://www.wchstv.com/newsroom/showscripts/6fri.shtml

Sincerely,
Walter E. Starr

13. So, let me understand this...a $hrubco fan attends a Kerry rally, with....
...his two children and stages a faked scene using his two children as props? That teaches kids to what, oh, lie and cheat?

Love those family values.

8. I knew there was something wrong with even the idea of a kerry person
doing this to a kid. I resisted posting my concerns because so many people believe it and I didn't want to get into a "it's real" "no it's not real" loop.

Thanks for letting us know the truth.

I knew we weren't that kind of people, the kind of people who attack "gold-star" mothers.

Here's my email:

FYI:

AP recently ran a picture of a 3-year-old girl who allegedly had a Bush/Cheney sign ripped from her hands by a Kerry Supporter. It turns out that the the picture was a set-up.

Here's the picture:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/040916/480/wvrs10309162250

The truth is that her father, Phil Parlock, has pulled stunts like this THREE TIMES, in 1996, 2000, and 2004. Each time his story made it into the news media. The "Kerry supporter" looks like he might be Parlok's son. Parlock may also be responsible for an alleged gunshot fired at his local GOP headquarters. See these pages for info:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x828458

Thank you for looking into this. I'm confident you will give this the level of scrutiny that you give to alleged "dirty tricks" by the Democrats.

27. I don't know if a response is slow, I myself just got on and have
been catching up. I have no doubt about the authenticity of the accusation that this man staged this particular photo op, it was rather obvious, so with all the letters sent, surely it will hopefully enforce an investigation into the ethics of such a father who would use his child in such a way...

Wouldn't Olberman be a good candidate to air this on his show and perhaps he himself call for an investigation into this mans tactics during campaigning?

You cannot blame people for questioning the validity of the mans word at first, but we all knew it would not end at that, I am honestly thrilled to have taken the time to come on today and read up on all that many on here were able to dig up...

As that duer who posted last night about her experience at the Kerry speech would say..

"You Guys Rock"

Even though there is always a bit of temper flare ups on this forum, there is still a unity and I like that, RWS are not kicking anyones butt on their own, the media is their anchor, and it cannot be blamed on us, many many including myself now write letters daily, it doesn't always mean a thing, I believe in having to fight under such heavy odds, we have actually come out the winner in more ways than one..

If anyone kicks butt, its the Dems in my opinion, the truth shall always set one free in the end...

I have to click on the "TO" button as you say but then I don't get an "active" window into which I can paste the addresses; I can only move over addresses that are in my address book.

Do you know how I can three the BCC choice in my main window and be able to paste to it? Thanks!

47. Okay, here's what I'm doing.
I click on "Create mail." I have two choices, to copy and paste into the "To" space or into the "CC" space. Since I want to "BCC," I click on the "To" button to get to the window that actually shows the "bcc" option. But there, my cursor isn't allowed in that window. It's designed to move addresses over from my address book by highlighting the address on the list on the left and using the arrow. So I thought maybe I could add these addresses to my address book (a new group, even) but I seem to have to type those in one at a time as well.

I'll type the addresses one at a time if I have to but I see this as a learning opportunity as well. Thanks! :D

I'm just trying to avoid having to type in all the addresses instead of pasting them -- though I could have been done with it by now if I wasn't messing around trying to figure it out! LOL! But this is how I learn new stuff!

What I need is a BCC option on the "Create Mail" window right under the TO: and CC: spaces -- those I can paste into!

My bcc option wasn't showing on the main "create mail" window. All I had to do was go to "View", then check "All Headers" and voila! I have a bcc window in which I can paste multiple addresses.

Hope this helps someone else, too!

84. Thanks for your help, Joanne!
Your method still doesn't work for me -- when I doubleclick on CC and then get the new window with the BCC option, clicking on BCC just results in moving over whatever is highlighted in my address book on the left. There's no way to "unhighlight" those names and also no way to paste into the BCC space.

However, if you see the post above, I was able to Google the issue and figure out how to get a BCC option on the Create Mail window in which I can paste multiple addresses.

Bush Supporter Stages Attack from "Kerry Union Supporter"

AP has published a photograph depicting a young girl crying after having her Bush/Cheney sign ripped by a "Kerry Supporter" as seen here:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/040916/480/wvrs10309162250

After reviewing investigative work done by Rezmutt on Democraticunderground.com forum, it becomes evident that Mr. Parlock has had the incredible bad luck of being attacked by "Democratic Supporters" in each of the past 3 Presidential campaigns. It also appears that in this case his own son was the "Democratic" attacker. Please review these links:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x828458

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x829092

I'd also point out that Mr. Parlock was present at a meeting at his local Republican Headquarters a few weeks ago where shots were fired. Is it possible that this attack was also staged? Please see "Shot Fired" at the following link:

I would appreciate you looking into this story.

Sincerely,

(UFR)

newsnight@cnn.com, aaron.brown@turner.com, ron.brownstein@latimes.com, whitehouse@washpost.com, insidepolitics@cnn.com, crossfire@cnn.com, executive-editor@nytimes.com, alexb@thehill.com

And here is the text I sent (the one I sent them has the photos attached)

"To whom it may concern;

What with all the umbrage over “forgeries” and fakery in the reporting on Campaign 2004, an especially “dirty” political trick may well have been launched against Presidential candidate John Kerry by republican operatives—and sadly this time some members of the media may be willfully complicit in this misdeed.

I’m talking about the now-infamous “crying-little-girl-who-had-a-Cheney-Bush-placard-ripped-from-her-hands-at-a-Kerry-Edwards-rally” story that ran on AP and was of course featured on the oh-so-reputable “Drudge” website yesterday evening. The “victim”—little 3-year-old Sophia Parlock sat atop the shoulders of her father, realtor and republican activist Phil Parlock at the Kerry rally when a thuggish Bush-Cheney hater snatched the sign from little Sophia, causing her to cry and causing her dad to slump sadly, look defeated and pose dejectedly for a photo depicting the “incident”.

Trouble is…Phil Parlock seems to have an amazing propensity for being the one guy protesting against democrats at a Democratic rally to have his sign (and signs) snatched and torn to bits. How many times has this happened to him before? Twice—and oddly enough, always during the presidential election cycle.

Here are the two previous instances:

First incident, 1996:

Copyright 1996 Charleston Newspapers
Charleston Daily Mail (West Virginia)

SECTION: News; Pg. P3C
LENGTH: 342 words
HEADLINE: DOLE SUPPORTERS FIND IT ROUGH AT CLINTON RALLY
BYLINE: The Associated Press

HUNTINGTON - Some Clinton protestors say the president's supporters
shouted them down and kept their signs from being seen as the
president kicked off his re-election campaign.
Others said they had no problem getting through the gates with signs
promoting Bob Dole's Republican candidacy.
Clint Gillespie and Robert Painter of Huntington managed to obtain
tickets to the priority viewing area outside the old Chesapeake & Ohio
passenger station in Huntington for a Clinton-Gore campaign rally on
Sunday.
Armed with the tickets, they marched through the gate with Dole-Kemp
placards tucked under their arms.
They obtained their tickets by promising those at Democratic
headquarters they would be waving signs during the president's visit,
but they did not reveal their signs would be in support of Dole.
"Clinton thinks he can just come here to Huntington and get a crowd,
but we're here to show not all West Virginians share Clinton's
values," said Gillespie, a senior at Marshall University.
"We always try to give them a warm Republican welcome," said Painter,
a recent graduate of Marshall University.
Phil Parlock's experience was less calm.
The Huntington man said he was knocked to the ground by a Clinton
supporter when he tried to display a sign that read "Remember Vince
Foster," the deputy White House counsel who committed suicide in a
Washington, D.C., park. His death has become the subject of much
debate among Clinton opponents.
"It must have been a strict Democrat who did this," Parlock said,
feeling the red abrasions on his face. "Everyone with the exception of
him was real peaceful about our protest."
Parlock said some of the crowd tried to make other anti-Clinton
demonstrators feel unwelcome. He estimated that about 150 Dole
supporters attended the rally, but their signs couldn't be seen for
most of the rally.
"I came to show that not everyone from Huntington is going to vote for
Clinton," Parlock said.
LOAD-DATE: August 28, 1996

Second incident, 2000:

Charleston Daily Mail (West Virginia)
October 28, 2000, Saturday
SECTION: News; Pg. P1A
LENGTH: 861 words
HEADLINE: Signs for Bush taken at rally, father, son say
BYLINE: SAM TRANUM

Phil Parlock didn't expect to need all 12 of the Bush-Cheney signs he and his son Louis smuggled in their socks and pockets into the rally for Vice President Al Gore.

But each time they raised a sign, someone would grab it out of their hands, the two Huntington residents said. And sometimes it got physical.

"I expected some people to take our signs," said Louis, 12. "But I did not expect people to practically attack us."

The two said they didn't go to the Friday morning rally to start trouble.

"I came to support Bush and try to change some people's minds," Louis said.

Gore's West Virginia campaign said Bush-Cheney signs were not welcome, but physical confrontations to eliminate them would not have been condoned.

Parlock, a real estate agent, thought it would be at least as educational for his son to spend the morning at the Gore rally as it would have been to spend the day at school. So the two got in the car and drove from Huntington, arriving in Charleston about 9 a.m.

Parlock said he was a volunteer for the Bush-Cheney campaign. He is listed on the West Virginia Bush-Cheney Web site as the Cabell County contact for the campaign.

But he said he came as a supporter, not a campaign worker. His visit to Charleston was "unencouraged and unsanctioned," he said. The idea was to show that there was another option besides Gore.

"My opinion of the press is it always shows the liberal viewpoint," he said. "And we have to struggle to show the other side exists."

He and Louis brought a supply of Bush-Cheney signs and smuggled them into the rally. They stuffed plastic ones in their socks and pockets and folded paper ones inside Gore-Lieberman signs.

Though tickets to the event specifically said no signs would be allowed in, Parlock said he walked right in with the Gore-Lieberman signs. He said people who carried Bush-Cheney signs openly were not allowed to bring them inside.

Parlock and his son, clad in white button-down shirts and ties, took their place in front of the Capitol steps and waited. As the rally got going, they started raising their signs and people immediately began stealing them, Parlock said.

"Three guys came up and squeezed me in and one grabbed my arms and pulled them down and another took the sign," Parlock said.

"Another guy came up and tried to grab the sign but I had a good hold of it and he stumbled and bumped into other people and started a ruckus," he said. Parlock said the police ejected the man from the rally.

Police said Friday evening they could not yet comment on any incidents at the rally.

Parlock said a group of people wearing T-shirts and jackets with the United Mine Workers of America logo took away many of their signs.

"I didn't see anything like that," said Ted Hapney, an international representative for the United Mine Workers. "I wouldn't do that. We don't condone any type of violence."

Another incident involved Louis and a teenage girl he and Parlock said they met at the rally. They said they didn't know who she was.

"She walked up and said 'I'll get on your shoulders and hold a sign,' " Louis said.

While she was sitting on Louis' shoulders waving a Bush-Cheney sign, a man who identified himself as a volunteer for the Gore campaign tried to pull the sign out of the girl's hands, Parlock said. He pulled so hard that Louis and the girl fell over.

"That sounds like an exaggeration," said Sarah Feinberg, spokeswoman for Gore's West Virginia campaign.

Parlock said the man was wearing a yellow pass around his neck. Feinberg said the color for a volunteer pass would be orange, while yellow passes were given to members of the press.

"We certainly don't have a policy of ripping signs out of people's hands," said Feinberg. "If someone brings a Bush-Cheney sign, we don't like it but we don't go to great lengths to obscure."

Parlock said after all his signs were stolen, he got some more from a group of Bush supporters who had not been allowed into the rally.

Though police said they were not ready to make official comment Friday evening, earlier Friday an officer said he had seen a scuffle during the rally.

Charleston Police Patrolman R.H. Vinyard said the incident involved people with Bush-Cheney signs, though he could not identify them by name. He said Gore supporters got into a fight with the Bush supporters about 10 minutes before the end of Gore's speech.

He said the altercation lasted about 45 seconds, was over before the police arrived to break it up and no one was treated for injuries. Afterward, he said, the Bush supporters tore up their own signs and left the area.

As workers cleaned up the debris from the rally in front of the Capitol after the rally, Parlock sat next to a pile of ripped up Bush-Cheney signs he had collected. He said he thought the people who took his signs went too far.

Still, he said he'd do it again.

And he thinks it was a good educational experience for Louis, too.

"You can't get this kind of a lesson in school," he said.

Writer Sam Tranum can be reached at 348-4872 or by e-mail at samt@dailymail.com
Note that both incidents were covered by the same paper, namely the Charleston Daily Mail (West Virginia) and that both incidents swirl around accusations of violence by democrats against republicans by Mr. Parlock. It is amazing how he always seems to be the man on the scene when something like this goes down isn’t it? Well, it doesn’t stop there…and the following instance is probably the MOST disturbing of the bunch:

http://www.wchstv.com/newsroom/showscripts/6fri.shtml

SHOT FIRED
By: Dee Delancey

PAT
LATE NIGHT GUNFIRE IN DOWNTOWN HUNTINGTON.
THE TARGET? A REPUBLICAN POLITICAL GATHERING.
DEE DELANCEY JOINS US LIVE FROM OUR PUTNAM NEWSROOM. DEE, IT HAPPENED AS G-O-P FAITHFUL WERE WATCHING THE PRESIDENT ON T-V?
Dee Delancey
ON A NIGHT OF REPUBLICAN CELEBRATION NEARLY ENDS IN TRAGEDY IN HUNTINGTON.

NEARLY TWO DOZEN PEOPLE ESCAPED INJURY AFTER AN UNKNOWN ASSAILANT FIRED A SINGLE GUNSHOT AT THE LOCAL G-O-P HEADQUARTERS.

Lyons; Maybe the guy will come back again and I can get a hold of him.
THE BULLET SLAMMED INTO THE FRONT WINDOW AS LOCAL REPUBLICANS WATCH THE NATIONAL CONVENTION.

Lyons; If they have a target why don't they go get it? Face up! Whoever did it is nothing but a coward if you are listening out there. You come by again and maybe I'll be here.

DeLancey; There continues to be a serious impact for the Republican today. There office in Cabell County shut down due to this gunfire.
NO-ON IS TAKING THE VIOLENT ACT LIGHTLY.

Howard; To think now that's going to be in the back of our minds whether or not there's going to be somebody shooting at us. It's just insane. Definately crosses the line.

DeLancey; We're standing here right now?

Howard; That's right. We could be targets out here right now.
PEOPLE HERE SAY DEMONSTRATIONS LIKE THIS MAY BE ACCEPTABLE, THIS IS NOT.

Parlock; I think this is definately, definately an act that was by an extremeist kind of thing.

DEE
FORTUNATELY, NO-ONE WAS HURT. POLICE ARE STILL INVESTIGATING. I'M DEE DELANCEY REPORTING LIVE IN OUR PUTNAM NEWSROOM.

Yes…note the copy in red and who it quotes about this…good old Phil “Forrest Gump/ Zelig” Parlock who AGAIN is miraculously on the scene of yet another example of “anti-republican” violence—except this one involves gunplay. It is an amazing coincidence that this simple realtor/republican activist is always at the nexus of physical perfidy at the hands of crazed dems, isn’t it? And yes…there’s some interesting photographic issues with poor besieged Mr. Parlock’s claims as you will note:

Note the gentleman on the left holding a remnant of the torn Bush/Cheney placard.

Now note in the family photo of the Parlock clan the two boys towards the front, in the grey and blue shirts respectively.

Funny how the pro-Kerry fellow in the union t-shirt looks remarkably like one of the Parlock kids isn’t it?

The fact is, it didn’t take much digging to find this stuff out—stuff which would lead one to question certain things:
1.) The validity of Parlock’s “Crying Sophia” story.
2.) The very real possibility that he has faked these instances (the repetition is almost comical) to garner sympathy for the GOP.
3.) His involvement in the potentially dangerous gun incident at the republican office last month .

It simply seems like a very interesting story to follow up on in light of the super-heated political climate we’re living in right now and the twists and turns this tale has taken since it was first reported could be a reporting angle that would shed some light on things that are being ignored by the press in general.

Here’s hoping you go with it,

111. My email + response from Jim Ross
Done! I actually emailed each of the above media folks separately, so I could add a little "Dear Mr. ____" personalization to the notes. I also sent this to Mike Malloy! One of the reporters responded; response is included below.

Text of my email:

--------------------
The AP is running an oh-so-heartbreaking story about a innocent, helpless three-year-old girl whose Bush/Cheney sign was ripped from her hands by a big mean brute of a Democrat. The problem is that it's almost certainly a set-up -- by the girl's own father! Yes, partisan nutjobs are now using their own children to help further their cause.

Link to the story: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/040916/480/wvrs10309162250

The alleged incident was described by the girl's outraged father, Phil Parlock, who can be seen in the photograph holding the little girl on his shoulders. Parlock is furious at the young union member visible in the picture to Parlock's right (our left), and who still holds a piece of the torn sign in his evil brutish paws.

Most disturbing is that this young man is no stranger. He appears to be Parlock's own son! Family pictures reveal the incredible resemblence between this smirking alleged "Kerry supporter" and one of the Parlocks' ten children. This is either a family rift of Jerry Springer proportions, or Parlock is staging the event to make Democrats look like thugs.

Parlock seems to be a magnet for evil Democrats, who apparently follow him wherever he goes. Three times now, Parlock has claimed to have been "attacked" while attending a Democratic event: in 1996, 2000 and now 2004; each time, these alleged incidents have been reported by the press, with stories available in NEXIS. Doesn't the media do even the most basic background investigating before reporting?

Even scarier, Parlock was also a "witness" to an alleged gunshot attack on his locak Republican Party Headquarters two or three weeks ago. (Story link: http://www.wchstv.com/newsroom/showscripts/6fri.shtml )

This guy is clearly the next Zelig or Forrest Gump. Was he also watching "Our American Cousin" in the Ford Theater?

Seriously, the media is swallowing his story whole, too lazy to do its own research. PLEASE follow up on this story on a guy so sick he'll use his own kids for partisan attacks!

Here are links to the discussion of this story, including NEXIS cites for the previous press reports of Parlock's continual attempts to smear Democratic supporters:

(links to DU omitted)

---------------------

Response received from Jim Ross of the Herald Dispatch (italics mine):
---------------------

Thanks for writing.

Phil Parlock is a strong Republican and a strong supporter of George W. Bush. If he was in the local GOP headquarters the night a shot went through the front window, it wouldn't surprise me. (Every time the president comes to our region, Phil Parlock and most of his family are in the crowd.) That was the night of the president's acceptance speech. A few nights later, someone egged the building. If there have been any other acts of vandalism or supposed vandalism (like stealing your own campaign signs and then writing a letter to the editor criticizing your opponent's dirty tactics), I don't know.

We'll have a follow-up story on our Web site sometime after midnight. I was at the airport yesterday, but I didn't witness the event, so all I can go on is what people tell me. And you know what that can be like in a polarized partisan atmosphere.

Jim Ross
-----------------

So far that's the only non-auto response I've received. Many thanks to Mr. Ross for getting back to me! :)

-- Kira

PLEASE don't publish misleading stories unless you know the full truth!
Don't let your reporters get away with lying.

AP ran a picture of a crying 3-year-old girl who allegedly got her Bush/Cheney sign ripped up by Kerry Supporters. Link:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/040916/4...

And keep kicking for all the shifts here.

On edit: In spite of the naysayers here, this IS important work for us, The Kerry Surrogates. The potential for this affair to reflect negatively on all of us was great. But through some deft Internet sleuthing(and The Parlock's "publicity hound" predelictions...) this has been nipped in the bud.

This is what we should do: out the fuckers. Out them and out them again, every time we get a chance. Then out them again.

What was that Jimmy Carville said about the inability of the opposition to respond when you have your fist down their throats? It applies here.

HEADLINE: DOLE SUPPORTERS FIND IT ROUGH AT CLINTON RALLY
BYLINE: The Associated Press

HUNTINGTON - Some Clinton protestors say the president's supporters shouted them down and kept their signs from being seen as the president kicked off his re-election campaign. Others said they had no problem getting through the gates with signs promoting Bob Dole's Republican candidacy. Clint Gillespie and Robert Painter of Huntington managed to obtain tickets to the priority viewing area outside the old Chesapeake & Ohio passenger station in Huntington for a Clinton-Gore campaign rally on Sunday.

Armed with the tickets, they marched through the gate with Dole-Kemp placards tucked under their arms. They obtained their tickets by promising those at Democratic
headquarters they would be waving signs during the president's visit, but they did not reveal their signs would be in support of Dole. "Clinton thinks he can just come here to Huntington and get a crowd, but we're here to show not all West Virginians share Clinton's values," said Gillespie, a senior at Marshall University. "We always try to give them a warm Republican welcome," said Painter, a recent graduate of Marshall University.

Phil Parlock's experience was less calm. The Huntington man said he was knocked to the ground by a Clinton supporter when he tried to display a sign that read "Remember Vince Foster," the deputy White House counsel who committed suicide in a Washington, D.C., park. His death has become the subject of much debate among Clinton opponents. "It must have been a strict Democrat who did this," Parlock said, feeling the red abrasions on his face. "Everyone with the exception of him was real peaceful about our protest." Parlock said some of the crowd tried to make other anti-Clinton demonstrators feel unwelcome. He estimated that about 150 Dole supporters attended the rally, but their signs couldn't be seen for most of the rally. "I came to show that not everyone from Huntington is going to vote for Clinton," Parlock said.

* Parlock has a history of creating skirmishes at opposing party's events in which he always comes out the victim:

* The photographer who took the photo works for the two papers that have featured Parlock's shady activism in the past who just happened to be at the right place, right time, which raises questions of this being a staged event, with collusion between Parlock and the photographer.

*Earlier photographs of Parlock's eldest son appear very similar to the "union guy" who supposedly ripped the sign away from Parlock's son--meaning that no Democrats assaulted any of the Parlocks, but brother assaulted father and sister, in front of a camera man who JUST HAPPENED to be at the right place, right time. I think we need to put this out there aggressively, to show US voters that there is NO LEVEL to which radical and divisive people will not sink to. This guy needs to be exposed for what he is. I

145. NEW OUTRAGE! Bush gives signed autograph picture to little girl!

Isn't this just the icing on the Parlock cake of fakery:

-snip-

After seeing the picture of the tearful Sophia on her dad's shoulders, aides said the president was sending her a little note Friday along with a signed campaign poster and an autographed photo of the prez and his dog. "Dear Sophia," Bush penned, "Thank you for supporting my campaign. I understand someone tore up your sign. So I am sending you a new sign and a signed picture. Please give my best to your family. Sincerely, George W. Bush."

152. Sent!
I just sent the info. to all of the media sources listed. Jeez, that guy has some serious damage. :freak:

I guess dear old dad was determined to make the toddler cry, not just for the camera, but to make sure she and her 11-yr-old brother associate Democrats with bad experiences. Heaven forbid they think back on the gathering at the airport and think it was fun! Those kids are really going to have a hard time over the next 4-8 years with President Kerry and Vice-President Edwards constantly being on their TV screen and all. :hi:

158. done, here's mine
Are you going to allow these Republican operatives to abuse their 3 year old daughter just so they can make Kerry supporters look bad? Parlock needs to be investigated by child services. Not only is he abusing his child, he may also have been involved in a shooting, and he has a history of pulling this stuff. It's the media's responsibility to get to the bottom of this since he's ovbiously looking for a little attention.

160. Well, better late than never.
I just got home and saw this. Can't hurt to send a little late, can it? I had never mass emailed before but learned by reading this thread so I learned something new as well.

This was a good day. Kerry is gaining strength.
