A challenge to all freepers
I have a challenge for all of the Bush supporters who have children at least 18 years old. If you believe everything your man tells you, if you think this is a just war, if you believe your man is doing the right thing and making good decisions about this war, then you should have no problem offering up your children for this just and righteous cause. Then, after your sons and daughters come home in body bags, you can feel secure in the knowledge that this was worth giving your child's life for. That is, of course, if you REALLY believe your president

15. This is something I used to do in High school but may work with the Freeps
I used to go to the recruting offices and fill out my friends names. They would get endless crap from the US military mailed to them.
I think the same would work with the freeps that you know. If they are really gung ho just put their names on the mailing list. Works like a charm...

18. Sign 'em up!
Does anyone have a list of recruiting offices we can refer our freeping friends to? Someone (unlike me) who is still able to post over there should do that and see how many takers you get. Few I would guess. LOL!!

11. I work with a bunch of warmongers
who want to go on to Iran, Syria, etc. I always work into the converation, in a nice way, something about what branch of the military are their kids going to join. They always have some kind of reply, like my kids don't do well with that kind of authority, or my kid is going to college, etc. I always reply "Don't they love freedom?" Hypocrites.

4. And they will have to do so....
I have lived 63 years and remember Roosevelt and Truman - and I have NEVER seen our country so torn and divided and hateful (and HATED) as it is today under the false "residency" of Bush. He has torn us asunder and it will take Kerry - and then Hillary - years to mend the fences he has torn down with is arrogance and stupidity.

9. Well well said
And fences must mend for our children's sake.

But like an old wise woman once told me, "It takes two to tangle," and of course the converse is true as well.

10. How do they do that?
are you advocating human sacrifice? How do you force your adult child to volunteer for the armed forces if they don't want to? Are you advocating a return to the draft? It might catch you, you know.

I'm not agreeing with * or the premises of the war, but whether the war is just, or not, has nothing to do with whether or not a person would be willing to scarifice his child. NO parent would sentence his child to death, but a term of military service is not an automatic death penalty, and lot's of parents are proud of their children in uniform, and support them. In any event, no one has the right to sacrifice anybody but himiself.

Yeah, and before you ask, I served in the military during the Vietnam years.

All this being said: what cause are you willing to sacrifice your life for? Universal health care? Reparations? Free Universal Education for all the children of the world? What are you willing to fight, and by fight I mean, kill for? Defense of the country, or of another human being is the only thing for me. I will admit, there is a lot of room for argument with the current military deployment.

It just sort of irks me. This type of fallacious, and deliberately offensive, argument is one of the reasons we getting our electoral heads handed to us.

decision after all. There is serious talk about the draft being enacted next summer. I have been keeping a close eye on this issue.

With two teenage Daughters... It sends chills down my spine to think that MY children might be FORCED to serve under this dip wad.

This administration keeps telling us that the draft isn't necessary. But their actions of course speak differently.

If more people realized that this was going to happen... Kerry would win in a landslide. This administration will say and do ANYTHING to win this election. If they lose.... they are looking at 12 to 16 years of a Democratic Presidency.

Just remember... YOUR CHILD WILL BE DRAFTED.... there are very few ways to "defer" like Cheney did. Male and Female will both be included.... can't run to Canada... The U.S. has made agreements with Canada...making it very difficult to ask for protection from our government.

IF the draft is started up again...IT WON'T GO AWAY... preschoolers WILL BE drafted when he or she gets old enough. Cheney said this WAR will last up to 50 years... so get used to it people. If Chimp/Cheney are selected again....You have been warned...

I don't want my children to be forced into ANYTHING... so if you support chimp... tell your kids to sign up...... so those that don't support the choices of this pResident aren't forced to fight for something or someone they despise.

As I have told you my son, my first born got deployment orders for a second tour in iraq. I don't want him to go but I have no control over it. He is a soldiers solder, been in 16 years. Rose through the ranks to Warrent Officer 2. But come on he hasn't been home six months. What they are doing is sending them faster because we don't have enough people. How many is * going to kill. The only way we can change things is get out the vote. Every one I talk to in my little part of Ohio says they are voting Kerry. The polls are wrong. I believe Kerry is leading in Ohio and it is not a tie.
Would laura want see her 2 offspring in A war, you can bet the house on it,Hell no. I work with a couple of war mongers who think * is right and I tell them then join up and defend your freedom instead of letting some other kid do it. Kid, My son turned 35 2 days ago.

I am a Viet Nam vet for Kerry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have been told they will be in Iraq for at least a year and a half. However, with the changes in policy, they could come home for a couple of months and then be recalled back again... it might never stop. The only thing for certain... is that they are having a harder time recruiting.... when they can't keep up with the need.. they will have no choice but to enact the draft again...

We need to get our troops home....not keep deploying them on endless tours of duty....

I believe I have saluted you in the past... But I salute both of you again for serving our country. You should be very proud of your son. Thanks Again for your post... We need to keep educating others through our experiences.
