McCain Urges Court to Put Nader on Ballot

WASHINGTON - Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record), R-Ariz., urged the Florida Supreme Court (news - web sites) to allow Ralph Nader (news - web sites) on the state ballot after it hears an appeal Friday by the independent presidential candidate.

A state judge rejected Nader's efforts to be on the ballot as the candidate of the Reform Party, which the judge said is no longer a legitimate national party under state law. The state supreme court said it will issue a ruling shortly after hearing the appeal.

"I believe it would be a mistake to let a set of inequitable ballot rules keep a legitimate presidential candidate off the ballot," McCain said in a statement released Thursday night by The Reform Institute, a political and educational organization he chairs.

3. Why should McCain have anything to say about this?
He should stay out of it-- his word is not the gospel and should not be held in higher esteem than anyone else who has nothing to do with this.

8. McVain will say anything
Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 09:50 AM by shrub chipper
as he realizes that the chimp will be just a bad memory in 2008.

He is so desperate for the Repuke nomination that he has cast aside any remining principles he might have ever had.

Let's hope we have seen the last post here saying that McVain is someone acceptable from that party.

12. McCain needs to either get in or get out...
Shit I'm tired of John McCain. He keeps trying to exercise influence in the election without being in the election. I won't say anything negaive about Kerry. I love GW Bush. Take the ads down. I love GW Bush. We shouldn't have 527s. I love GW Bush. I will not be VP. I love GW Bush. Let Nader on ballot. I love GW Bush. Stop using me in your ads. I love GW Bush

etc etc etc.

the VC could not do it in 6 years when he was in the Hanoi Hilton,

but Bu$hCo has brought McCain to his knees....... he is Bush's

because the GOP believe the undecideds will listen to McCain.as he may have once been their choice in 2000.
